So I had a freak accident and sent a static shock through my MPC One when I touched the jog wheel, as soon as it happened I knew it was **** because different buttons started lighting up and the screen kinda flashed. Now most of the buttons and the jog wheel don't work but the screen, pads and q-links still work and it turns on and still outputs sound but it's still unusable since I can't use most of the buttons or wheel.
It's out of warranty but I sent Akai a ticket anyways to see if they could do something but haven't heard anything . I also messaged MPCSTUFF website and he said it was probably the carrier board but that it might just be more worth it to get a new one than get it repaired. I'm curious has anyone replaced the carrier board on an MPC One or one of the other new ones? What's the process and is it simple to do or easy to **** up the rest of the insides? Do you have to solder anything? Thanks.
