MPC Key 37 + Tascam Model 12 as MIDI slave

Hi all,

I am using MPC Key 37 connected via USB to a Tascam Model 12 so I can expand in and out and take advantage of sliders for mixing with Tascam Model 12 as an external audio device.

Also wanted to control the MIDI clock from an Elektron Analog Rytm so it can send it to the MPC.

My question is : Does the MIDI cable needs to go from Elektron MIDI Out to Tascam MIDI in? or to MPC Key 37 MIDI in? I've tried the second options but for some reason is not receiving the MIDI clock so far.

Is this a bug? MIDI clock receive is stable for MPC 3.4?

In this case, connect Elektron and MPC with a MIDI cable. You can check if the MIDI clock is being received on the MIDI monitor in the top right corner of the MPC’s main screen.

If the clock isn’t coming through, check the Elektron settings. If the clock is coming through but not syncing, check the MIDI/SYNC settings in the MPC’s preferences.

Even in MPC 3.4, MIDI Sync is working properly.
