Ohh, no way it is comfortable to play right side of pads with screen tilted up, there is a reason that every mpc with tilting screen has pads located under the screen - not right next to the screen like on the live 1/2.

Once you get into the groove of playing & or, gain muscle memory of the pads/buttons its not like you need to look at the screen & pads at the same time. I just wish it was adjustable, but I'm happy that they offer this. Things like this will only get better over time & more user feedback.

Yeah looks pretty awkward but I can see the use for it for lengthy tasks that don't include hammering on the pads. I haven't watched the video but I assume it can be tilted back to align with the pads fairly easily whenever needed.

Nope. It's going from one flat non-adjustable position to a tilted non-adjustable position - pick your poison. There's a mod that had hinges & hopeful they'll offer that method in the future. I'll post it the link if I find it.

Another thing worth to mention is that current generation displays (like those in our mpcs) have really great viewing angle without discoloration like old TFT screens.
In my opinion tilted screen in live is not really needed, if tilt is needed - I tilt whole mpc for better overview

Yikes! Seems like a strange choice then to pick the Live II as the MPC One would make way more sense. I would have considered it if I had the One even though it makes it less portable for travel.

Agreed. MPC Stuff should consider expanding this offering (an adjustable version) to say the Kronos, where it would make a huge difference.

Definetly thinking of picking this for my One.
Not sure if the tilt is good at usage.
Anyone tried ?

i really hate the looks of this tilted screen. i would rather buy a used mpc x instead of challenge the purposed design of a live or a one… but u can always go back i guess.

I really hate the look of the non-tilted screen. The purposed design of the Live & One one was Akai being cheap. You spending the 100s of dollars on a used X before $109 on a screen mod is your choice.

When I'm at my desk with the Live II it's on an old solid steel DJ stand at a 45º angle anyway.
When I'm using it portable on the bed or couch etc. it's not an issue that it's flat with the pads as it's on my lap. This is a solution in my case for a problem that doesn't exist.

This tilting screen with hinges that I found on the Force MockbaMod Discord would be better:

How is this better than one of those nice, stable, cheap and compact laptop stands ? For my MPC One it fits the bill perfectly. Or do finger drummers need the MPC perfectly flat ?

Who said it was better than anything?
This post was to just let people know this option exist. I hope they update it & make it adjustable like the version in the this link: https://imgur.com/a/EqxtW1b
A problem with that stand is that standing the MPC up like that & when you add cables & a USB stick it could block other gear. Also, yes some finger drummers like to have the unit flat, esp if they're playing for a like long time.
