Seeking Advice: Focusrite Scarlett Solo Bundle vs FL Studio

Hello everyone,

I've been working on putting some songs together on my MPC One and feel there's a lot of potential, but I know I'm missing some key elements. Currently, I don't have a DAW or an audio interface. Recently, I came across two items on sale at significantly reduced prices:

1) The Focusrite Scarlett Solo (4th Generation) bundle, which includes Ableton Live Lite, Avid Pro Tools Artist,
and the Hitmaker Expansion software bundle.

2) The FL Studio All Plugins Edition Music Production Software.

Both options are within my budget, especially considering the great deals. My question is: would it be overkill to get both, or would the Focusrite bundle be sufficient for my needs?

Those are 2 vastly different options. Ableton live lite is not really suitable to do serious productions because it is extremely feature limited. I don't know the restrictions in Pro Tools artists but ProTools is probably not the DAW you would want to use anyway unless you were just looking for tracking rather than creation. So if you went with the Focusrite bundle, you would likely need to buy a daw anyway.

I think you'd be better off buying Fl Studio and a UAD Volt. Around the same price but much more suitable combo for bedroom producers with intent to get a serious start to making music.

Thanks for the suggestion. I took a look at the UAD Volts, and to be honest, they’re a bit too expensive for my budget when compared to the Focusrite option. Truth be told, I'm a Deer in the headlights here...

The Volt 1 is $139, Same price as the Focusrite Solo. The more input options Volts are probably the same cost of the Focusrite bundles. The UAD Volt is a way better interface and you get free plug-ins. The audio interface of the MPC one is better than the Focusrite. If money is tight, there is no real need to buy another interface unless you want something substantially better than what you have already. If you are not fan of the MPC Software and want a proper DAW, all you need is FL Studio then use your MPC in controller mode for it's audio interface.

Thanks SuperKonquer. I was always under the impression that an audio interface was required for vocals or plug in instruments when using the MPC One. Thanks for your advice, I will definitely consider that approach.
