Just updated to 3.4.1, - MIDI program change issues are still very much a problem, and I'm pretty sure this is as old as the MIDI note bug.

Two ways to test:

Example 1: Send a program change from an external sequencer into the MPC and back out to an external synth. Note data passes along just fine, program changes, not so much.

Example 2: On the MPC, create two MIDI tracks and assign different program change numbers on each. Now hop between them while playing notes. Program change values are ignored.

**Bonus** Example 3: Let's combine these two examples. If you set the MPC MIDI preferences to switch tracks when receiving an external program change, you'll see that the tracks change as they should, BUT they still ignore the program changes values set in example 2.

- Two-finger menu scrolling no longer works. Now the user is forced to slowly scroll through large folders.

Instead, the scrollbar on MPC3 is larger, which helps with scrolling through long lists.

Good call. Though, apparently not large enough for me to have noticed!

After using the scrollbar, I can say I'm not a fan. The user needs to be bang on, otherwise it doesn't register. Accidentally bump a q-link, and it all gets covered anyway. At least make it a hair wider. Good to know there's at least *something* of an option.

This one's a really big deal. I need to be able to do PC's on tracks and have em do what they're supposed to.

Any beta update before 3.4 worked just fine for me. When I upgraded to 3.41, ethernet and Wi-Fi stopped working. I tried upgrading to the non-beta release of 3.41, same issue. If I downgrade to the latest 2.something software, ethernet and Wi-Fi work just fine. I want to keep using three, because I love the DAW feature in it.

No matter what I did, trying to update from USB, the computer or through online… Same issue happens. Any update before 3.4, 3.3 whatever… The ethernet and Wi-Fi worked just fine.

Any input would be much appreciated. As this is driving me nuts. Again, it seems like there’s nothing wrong with Wi-Fi or ethernet because it works on every beta before 3.4, but not with anything after. Problem is, I don’t have access to any of the beta updates before 3.4, or I would just use 3.3 something. Thank you in advance for any help.

MPC-Tutor wrote:Okay, got it. TC must be off. That's really not good at all.

A way to highlight it; record basic kick snare pattern at half level. Extend all the events then record at full level so you can see the short red events on top of the existing long yellow events.

Also SHIFT > SELECT ALL > DELETE doesn't seem to visually delete those ghost events. You have to leave grid and go back before they go.

I just officially reported this to the closed beta group.

I couldn't recreate this on my Key37.
I was interested to see if it was a pad or a key related issue, but both options work for me.
@Elijah @MPC-Tutor What hardware did you try this on?
Could someone with both a Live (or Live II or One or One+ or X) and a Key 37 (or 61) try this to see if the hardware makes a difference?

After further testing, I found that this issue occurs when doing a Rec+PlayStart recording without TC while the Grid View or List View is open. It does not happen when any other screen, such as the Main screen or Arranger View, is active.

It seems likely that the rendering load of the Grid View and List View is causing the problem.

I can’t get the auto sampler to work when using tascam model 12 over usb. I set everything correctly (tried 6 times, correct midi settings/monitor in/routing), but I am left with a bunch of blank samples every time. The main sampler and the looper both work fine with the same settings.

Using the audio/midi ports directly on the mpc, for the auto sampler, does seem to work with the same software settings.

Created a drum program. Saved drum program to have a copy of it later. Then saved project.
After re-opening the project it says that the WAV of the drum track wasn´t found.
The wav file still exists in the saved drum program, but not in the project -> Obviously the sample was just saved in the program (that was meant to be an extra copy), but not in the original project as it usually should be.

I create a project with several audio and drum tracks in standalone (mpc x) 4 bars all ok.
When I duplicate once, and twice, at first all is ok, but when I create a new drum track and record a new sample into it that runs all the 16 bars, it wont allow to reproduce it, only 4 o 8 bars will be reproduced, depending on the starting position of the sample, but in no case the 16 bars are reproduced. No matter if i go one shot, note on, loop up or down, backwards, or whatever I do.
So I go to the previous old tracks to see if the same thing happens, and to my surprise it does; when i change something it will be restricted by this no longer than 4 or 8 bars/sample allowed...

A different thing I would like to ad that is not a bug, is that when working in sample edit and a sample is deleted, it automatically takes you to the start of the sample list, so if I have a lot of samples and I want to delete 10 at the end of the list I have to scroll 10 times from the beggining to the end, instead of staying where one is located in the list and continue deleting or working.

Also there should be an option in main view, where you so nicely can see the waveform of the selected sample, to see the name of this same sample clearly in big on top of it, or on its side, as I have a los of very similar looking, but differently named samples, it would help to distinguish them much easier. There is space enough.

I want to also ad that Im a super happy MPC3 user, Im not criticizing, I just want it to work better than it already does, good job and keep it up.

You can go to MENU > PROJECT and delete samples from the list ('tap to select > DELETE', or 'press and hold > delete'). If you then single tap a remaining sample and go to SAMPLE EDIT, that sample should be the one pre-selected.

So in MAIN, +NEW TRACK > DRUM? Then how are you recording a sample to a drum track? Do you mean you go to the sampler and sample in something and then assign to a pad in that drum track? Or did you mean record to an audio track?

Basically can you explain exactly what you are doing step-by-step? I'll then try to recreate.

Ill try to explain better; I create a new proyect with several drum and audio tracks (problem is with the drum tracks). At first I keep it 4 bar and record drums and samples into it, it all works well. Then I duplicate the tracks length, and make small adjustments and variations, all works well. I also resample this into certain effect pedals and re-record it, and use it, no problem. Then I duplicate again to 16 bars, and it sounds well and i can apply variations an all fine. But then I want to record a longer sample that I record with the sampler, as I did wit the 8 bars, but it wont reproduce it when played back longer than 8 bars or only 4 if i place the sample at the beginning of the track. If I pace the sample a quarter note after the beginning it will play a bit longer (8 bars). So this means I can play the sample twice 8 and 8 bars but not 16 bars long... not posible to reproduce the entire sample. I tried to switch from one shot to note on, etc. Even when the sample is put into reverse play it plays it reverse only 4 to 8 bars, not the whole sample. It might be I did something wrong, but I really dont know what and I try to solve this in any way possible, I couldnt.

What are you trying to do here? It sounds like you want the MPC to send those program changes each time a track is selected. That is something I definitely wouldn't want to see happening, it would wreak havoc in most MIDI setups.

It also sounds like you're trying to do too much with a single program change. You want to select the track, and send another program change? Instead of that, why not just change channels on your controller?
