It's possible to switch the FX with an external controller.

AFAIR the target for MIDI learn is a bit odd named. But I was able to control Beat Flex at last.

Drwaback is tha you have to do the MIDI mapping again and again.

How is this flex beat?
Would you recommend it?
Can't you use qlinks instead of pads?
(Not the same, I agree, a missed opportunity for Akai, more or less like the XY fx)

I like it, you can dry/wet with qlink.

Does it affect the source sample on the fly or does it just add effects to it?

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense you cannot use the pads with it, it's exactly built with pads in mind, clear enough, it screams to be used with physical pads

Of course you could resample a single sample with the FX on if you wanna keep it.

Interesting, I will take a look at it.
I am still waiting for something like that where you can load a sample and tweak it live in the way you use this flex beat.
But this seems a good one to put on the master output, as you said.
It would be also good to have an XY on the output, if it was useable.
Hopefully it will be in the future.

Sidenote:

I haven't tried it out yet because I just learned it today. It seems to be possible to create a bank on the software (or AU/ST version), transfer it to a drive of your MPC and load it.
