You're better off setting up Odyssey track macro 16 knobs to in way that's more useful & save that as a Track template for whenever you use Odyssey. I just really liked how he made that strange synth make sense like why different slider have certain colors & how the OG was designed.

 They should really have a custom Akai mode that's set up to be more MPC friendly and or allow users to rearrange the layout. Now that would dope. :)

Well yes, I think you are right, I have to make a qlink template and start using Odissey again.
I was really excited to have an Odissey on MPC but I found it very difficult to use.
It makes sense to use Opx4 and Odissey, you have an FM synth and a 70s analog synth, you are good covered if you want weird evolving sounds.

Odyssey is badly laid out & as much as you want curse out Akai for it, they give you a workaround, in this case it's the Track & or the 2 Project macros giving up to 48 knobs to customize just for one plugin.

Yes, Odyssey & Opx-4 make a great team & to make it a triple play bring in the 3rd O by adding in the Organ plugin & have yourself a good ole time!

Odissey was not made by Akai, that's the point, I think they just ported a 3rd party plugin to MPC without changing the original layout which was intended to be used with bigger screens and controllers.
Opx4 was made specifically for MPC by Air and you can see the difference in the GUI.
As for organs, I autosampled some of them from a Roland mc707 that I bought used to autosample all I could and resold it at the same price.
I like using autosampled keygroups, that's why I am not using MPC synths anymore, beside Opx4.
But yes, I have to give Odissey another try, using a qlink template.
Thanks for the very appreciated tips.

I know Akai make Odyssey, but they design the laid out & kept close to OG, but didn’t to, hence the urge to curse them out.

I'm starting to get more into KG I wish the Force had KGXL features & the Drum programs had a Mod matrix. Good luck with Odyssey with the macros.

Does anyone know of a way to get pitch LFO to center around correct pitch, and not upwards only? I like Odyssey and I'd like to do a plain simple vibrato, but it sounds out of tune. On my Force at least.

Odyssey was definitely made by a third party maker they worked with early on.. I can't remember their name and it is weird thru don't have it on the app like NI does.. maybe they are no longer in business?

The company is WayOutWare. Still, why couldn't Akai have them or their own team design it to be more user friendly?

IDK .. I hate it, I had a real one and I can think of much better way of doing it.. those that have had a hardware Odyssey I think find it easier to get around since we are so used to using it all at once, but if you haven't, I can't imagine how confusing it would be.. some things are just better in the real world too though.

Having a real one lets you see everything all at once making it easier to use, but Akai should know that the way they design this plugin should be better laid out. Like Jorb said in the video, I get that they were trying to setup like the real 1 but why do it like that if it means less people will use it? Watching videos on the real ones help.
