We all saw the graphics of this way back right before Key61 was released. Both pics, Key61 and Force made rounds on the internet.

That makes no sense for it to made that way. Even a fixed tilt screen like the one MPC-stuff is selling would've been better & they should've found a way to give at lease 8 knobs like the Force. It's like they made the 61 as test to see if there's a market for a MPC w Keys & than BAM! the 37 pops up. I can see them making a 88 key version with a tilt screen, more knobs & hammer action keys & even redoing the key 61 with a key 64 or a 61XL or whatever.

This is exactly what it was.
#1 A test.
#2 something that wasn’t done before, kybd w/ mpc, DEF a market for it due to not needeing a seperate midi kybd.
#3 give it more ram (the first one to have 4gb and would DEFINITELY give it massive appeal due to everyone wanting more ram.

Same as decades old mpc playbook, a smaller, less expensive version will be offered, aka mpc key37.
We’ve all seen and known this will happen. Mpc one is modern mpc 500, smallest, cheapest in the group.

This made my night.The Mysterious Red Ninja knows how to sell units. I like this new post-2017 approach of making many different types of models even the an alternative device all giving you that Akai experience (the good, bad & bugs) & supporting it for years. I hope they give us road map more often. Me & other Force users I know across the web are very excited to know we got a new update on the way!
I think they're now using MPC3 a test to see how they should design the new gen devices. It seems like they're aiming to add the clip-matrix & see if that catches on & if users ask for more pads & dedicated buttons - basically a Force with calling it a Force. In the era of MPE I can see them making a MPC32/64 & with a partnership with Linn a MPC 128.
The Force was the test to see if a MPC with more pads & clip based sequencer would work & MPC3 is slowly saying it did, but we'll see, maybe the new MPC3 beta in May will let us know more.
