Placing the AKAI MPC X on the Arturia Keylab 88 controller.

Guys, has anyone tried to place the AKAI MPC X (or SE) in the place where the notebook or other equipment is supposed to be placed on the Arturia Keylab 88 MKII

I'm talking about this: https://www.arturia.com/products/hybrid ... i/overview

Scroll down. The place is shown all the way to the right. You even get a notebook stand. The controller housing is metal. The stand is sturdy. But I can't judge if the MPC X will fit in that space. I understand that smaller devices will fit, but I'm interested in the MPC X. It will probably be a bit out of proportion with the Keylab, and I'm wondering how much and if anyone has tried it yet.

Or can someone who owns both devices try it and send some photos or impressions?

I wouldn't trust it sittin up there. The Weight Transfer may be a little too much to the Right of the Keyboard.

Try it out and let us know

FYI, if you look at the website link I posted, this keyboard ships with stand that extend keyboard area where you can place your laptop. The Arturia case is metal. Not plastic.

This is the post you responded to. If you're not gonna take a recommendation from someone with the same keyboard & smaller device or Lampdog who has a X, then go to Akai’s website & get the size & weight info & determine for yourself if you think you can make it work with whatever stand you'll use. Keep in mind, that banging on the X pads while it's on top of the Keylab may not be wise in the long run, but do you.

And it didn't really occur to you that the purpose of placing an MPC close or on top of a MIDI keyboard is to be able to press MIDI keyboards instead of "banging" on little cubes? Plus, before I posted here, I tried to do all of this on my own (sizes, weight), but it's hard without actually owning devices.

I asked politely. I don't see anything wrong with it. I asked a specific question. The answer was "Don't do it". Does this sound like an informed "recommendation" to you?

I didn't ask "should I do that", but whether anyone has tried something and can they provide an opinion.

I can be the biggest moral leper on planet Earth and be able to ask an honest question without being blocked by the tone police, all with the argument "have respect for person XY because he has status".

And now I should be ashamed because I asked something and got an answer which didn't tell me much, "don't do that" and after I asked for an explanation, you all immediately get up on your legs as if I asked someone something and damaged their credibility. Forum credibility.

Slight overreaction there buddy, no one expects you to be 'ashamed' for asking and no one is 'bullying' you. You've had several responses to your question, clearly no one recommends it, it doesn't seem designed for holding something so big and heavy. If no one has tried it in the flesh, this is the best you're going to get. Not sure what more we can do for you on this particular question.

I've had a look at your post history here, everyone has always been helpful to you, so it's a bit of a leap to jump into accusations that this place is full of 'ego-driven people that bully others".

anyway, I would say no, look at an MPC One or Live instead.

I just gotta say: if he’s willing to risk $2500 to test his theory, more power to him. I sure as hell wouldn’t. I wouldn’t do it with the cheapest MPC (One/One+) at $700. Must be nice to have that kind of money to throw around.

If you were to try it and it fell on the floor and got damaged, I’m sure Akai wouldn’t cover it under warranty.
