8x8 MIDI interface and MPC4000 USB host.

I'm still waiting for my newly purchased MPC 4000 to arrive and I'm just curious if the MPC's USB host port could support an 8x8 MIDI interface such as an Emagic AMT 8. If that's possible, then I can just throw my computer and Cubase out of the window. Right? If it doesn't support the AMT 8, are there any other 8x8 USB MIDI interfaces that might work with it? Has anyone ever tried this with success in getting it to work?

It would be nice if I can totally eliminate computer sequencing altogether and go strictly MPC, but I must have that 8x8 MIDI interface.

doesnt work. it can give the unitor power only. mpc doesnt recognize it

only keyboards, mice, hard drives. low level stuff. Midi Interfaces require drivers. Try hooking up a usb web cam to your MPC.

Thanks guys. It would be nice if it did support an 8x8 midi interface and the ability to install the drivers. Maybe there next MPC model would have an 8x8 MIDI interface on the back. Oh well, MPC 4000 and Cubase it is. I think I can sync the two together and make them become good friends!!!
