MPC LIve 2 & Roland JU 06a HELP!!

okay so I need help setting these up my issue is mainly that i cant seem to record anything in through MIDI i have it connected to MIDI out from the Live 2 into midi in on the JU 06 i have also done it vice versa, and I have the audio coming out of the JU06a into the MPC so i can hear the sound through the mpc LIVE 2 SPEAKERS after arming it in the sampler tab. also i am on MPC 3.

so my issue is i cant seem to record into the arranger in anyway but i can see the notes being recorded on the screen but no sound actually comes out of it. I cant seem to find any information on how to hook both of these machines together to work but i see videos of people using the MPC as a controller to play the notes with the pads which im able to do but when i press REC and start it also triggers the sequencer on the Roland... this is really annoying if anyone knows a full on video with both these devices that explains how to get them to work together or knows the answers please let me know

Have you tried setting the clock to internal on the Roland?

That should allow you to play notes via the mpc and prevent the sequencer from starting.

There may even be a disable transport option on the roland that would do the same.

Have you tried disabling transport send from the mpc?

Couple of options that'll prevent the sequencer starting when you hit play on the mpc.

Check MIDI channels on both devices and look at the event log.

If you want to monitor your Juno through the MPC, you need to dedicate an audio track to passing the audio. Create a new audio track, name it Juno or something, and set Monitor to IN. Do not record on this track; it exists solely to connect the inputs to your speakers.

Make sure the MIDI Output in the Track settings is set to MPC, so that the MIDI notes are being triggered by the MPC sequencer & pads.
