Best way to rebuild sequences from ASR X Pro in MPC Live 2

Greetings everyone. Seems like a a very helpful space here.

So I have a show coming up at the end of the month and want to perform songs made on the ASR X Pro with the MPC Live 2 due to the lack of flexibility and occasional sequencer “stumble” on the old red beast.

I don’t have much experience with the MPC Live 2 and I don’t have a lot of time to prepare so I was hoping for some quick advice on which route would be best to take before I get started down the wrong path:

Should I record each track of each sequence/song one by one from the Asr X Pro to the MPC Live 2 as an audio track, loop, sample or clip (kick, snare, hats, percussion, bass line, chords, arps, leads, samples, etc.) ?

I know there are only 8 audio tracks available and most of these sequences have a few more than 8 tracks so I would run out of audio tracks there. Should I do a combination of things?

All of the sequences/songs are made up of 8 or 16 bar loops of all the tracks that I have been building up on the fly live and dropping things in and out, adding hardware dub effects etc. for live sequencer mix downs and that’s what I want to do using the MPC Live 2 instead.

So I was thinking maybe using loops would be my best bet? But what about clips? I can’t import stems unless I get a translator to make the files compatible and I don’t think I have time for that now, so the audio has to be sampled or recorded track by track into the Live 2 to rebuild the sequences.

Just don’t want to box myself in and realize I have to start over if I take the wrong path since I don’t have a lot of time to waste.

I eventually want to sequence the ASR X Pro with the MPC live 2 but that would mean building all new songs and I also don’t have time right now for that or to figure out all the midi stuff
& the best approach for all that. Besides, I love the material and the sound of these tracks I’ve already built on the ASR X Pro, it’s just too limiting for live performance.

You can record and play back more than 8 stereo audio tracks, but not using the Audio Tracks. The MPC drum programs can trigger a sample on a pad, but you need to create midi performances triggering the sample.

Perhaps your best bet is to limit it to 8 “stems” just because it gets hectic to have too many variables, but that’s up to your discretion.

If you can sync the ASR-X to the MPC, it’s pretty easy to track it out of the ASR-X one stereo track at a time into an Audio Track of the MPC.

It all kinda depends on how your tracks are arranged. If it’s just one loop where you mute parts in and out, then it should work to stem them out into the 8 audio tracks, but it could be more flexible to actually assign them to a drum program or multiple programs across different midi tracks. Then you can use the track mute to mute the playback at the end of the loop (so it cuts out in time rather than instantly like when you mute an audio track).
