Akai force, pads not working

Hi, I'm hoping someone here can help me, I recently picked up a force at an auction site, only to find that the unit powers on the, screen lights up everything seems fine but the pads don't light up nothing registers knobs don't work either, I'm hoping it's something simple but fundamental like a cable is missing out not connected correctly has anyone else had a similar issue??

Also, I'm not sure if I'm getting audio out, but am unclear whether I can trigger clips using the screen, I need to carry out more tests to see what is working and what is not..

It might be you just need to open it up replug some cables & may spray some D5, or maybe MPC-Stuff has the parts you need. If not, see if you can get a refund, take it to repair shop or sell it for parts.

You can trigger clips from the screen but only if it's in Launch mode. Do other buttons work like Play, Launch & Note?
