I am new to MPC Live Mk1 a with MPC3 loaded. (It has been a steep climb and Im making my way through the manual). One thing that Im stumped on is this: I want to be able to use the MPC Live to play a different set of samples (via the pads) in a live band situation. I have the samples loaded and easily assigned the first group to the pads. However, when we are changing songs, I want to have the pads fire a whole new set of samples. I didn't want to have to change banks either....I thought I could just make a new track under the same sequence, put it in drum mode, assign the new sample set to pads and then manually change the track and the new sample set would load up. However, when I make a new drum track (Track 2 in drum mode) and Im assigning samples, It fires off the new samples and the first samples that I assigned from Track 1??? Therefore , Im not able to have it load a new set of samples by just changing tracks and playing the pads since it plays every sample that was previously assigned to that pad. IIm sure Im missing something basic but wondering if someone may be able to help with this.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by this? Is the sequence itself playing and track 1 has midi events that are being triggered? Or is the sequence stopped and when you hit the pads on track 2, track 1 pads are playing simultaneously? Can you post a video?

Thanks for responding. The sequence is stopped. Im only trying to play the pads in a live situation. There are no MIDI tracks or audio tracks running. As far as the video, I will try and post one tomorrow.. Thanks again
