What I thought I couldn’t do, I can :Sigh: :Sigh: I am just now seeing a slideout in:

Main menu.
go to a drum program you have loaded up already.
tap program strip
Tap SEND
tap a SEND knob
RETURNS strip slides out over the OUTPUT 1/2 strip.
tap FX in that RETURN strip.
tap one of your send blocks/efx (mine has delay pro in the 1st slot).
I’m now able to hit pads and tweak my sounds w/o sequencer running.

Is this new 60 second loading time stuff normal? I kinda dumped the rootfs and flashed it via fastboot and i thought my mpc hung so i held power off and just as it shut down it loaded up lol. so- i hit power again and after quite some time it initialized..

So far so good, the summing in this firmware seems to be "fixed" or improved. right outta the gate i banged in a pattern on that default trap kit and then quickly doodled some pad chords and a lead and it sounds great. before I was noticing some issues with the summing. I couldnt seem to make the tracks fit together despite having all the knowledge it just kept coming out poor and muddy. i dont know maybe its just a year and a half break from music but this crap sounds incredible now. I think i can work with this.

Back again, yeah man hype and tube synth sound so much better. they got their vibrato back! and the reverb effect is way sharper. they got a solid tone again. the fact i dont have any plugins anymore doesn't even bother me. just these two plugins sounding as good as they do is exciting again.

What OS did you have before that sounded bad?

Those default sounds are heavily processed in order to sound good and reel you in (and they do). Your own samples will most likely take some work to get there.

just 2 clarify; are u saying that the current version handles importing 2.15.2 projects more accurately then the 3.0 beta version? as the main reason I chose not to upgrade to the latest v3 was due to poor handling of projects made in 2.0, often the old projects did not sound the same.

basically anything from 2.13 - 2.15 was sounding horrid for me, but come to think of it.. i kept re-using the synth patches from old updates. that may have caused some bugs for me. Theres some renewed vibrance i was missing.

Yeah, I don't know about shit like the 60/3K or the SP1200, never had one in hand before, but I'd call it a 'minor' perk of using them. I notice it because I've been listening to this shit since like 91/92 and for me, it helps get it closer to sounding 'just like that' haha. I could easily get by with the 'modern' tools in Cubase just the same.

To be honest, I'm not sure why I don't nowadays. Its a hell of a lot quicker and easier using Halion and Groove Agent to get shit done, but I guess some of us are a glutton for punishment and like to drag out the old 'comfortable' workflow til it dies haha. (Don't tell the EMU, but I started liking 808 basses and those 'Test programs' more in the Akai lately)
