Why no output via USB into Macbook Pro or Logic?

I have my MPC One+ all set up as instructed online and connected via USB to my Macbook Pro, everything is 2024 and updated to current 2025 versions. Macbook Pro is recognizing the MPC One in the "Audio MIDI Setup” but I cannot record nor even monitor the MPC One+ sounds thru my computer speakers nor the digital interface / studio monitors connected to the Macbook Pro. The only way I can hear the MPC One+ is directly thru the MPC One+ headphone port.

What is the best way to troubleshoot input / output solutions and what are the top 3 most missed issues of users upon new MPC One+ setup for this issue?

Yup, that's how it works. Audio does not travel back from the MPC to the host via USB.

Are you saying that theres absolutely no way to send audio into my Macbook pro so that I could monitor it via my digital interface/ studio monitors nor record it via Logic Pro X with the USB?

The Maschine, the MPC One+ biggest competitor does this without issue out of the box. I cannot imagine that Akai would intentionally manufacture the MPC One + to not be able to compete or at least keep up with its biggest competitor? There's absolutely no way to do this via USB with the MPC One+?

Yup.

The modern MPCs started out as simple control interfaces for their computer software (I think they included audio and MIDI interfaces as well). Eventually they created the standalone line, which can either operate like the old "dumb" devices, or as fully independent instruments. So, when the MPC standalone device is connected to the computer, none of its internal capabilities are available... only the audio/MIDI ports and the disk drives. When connected to the MPC software, the MPC also acts as a control surface.

I mean, yeah much thanks for your explanation…. But…. are you saying that there is absolutely zero way to get audio monitoring nor recording into my Macbook Pro and/ or into Logic Pro X with the MPC One+ provided USB cable?

What, do I need purchase like a 1975 issue MIDI input /output interface setup to do this? I mean shoot, I dont remember the last time I used one of those archaic devices to monitor and record MIDI into a Macbook Pro. It probably was like 1998 or something...

Yes, I get this and this is what I am doing. But the Macbook Pro is not "receiving MIDI nor audio data from the MPC…”

AKAI claims it is an hardware issue. Only the MPC Key 37 does class compliant USB Midi and Audio without any shenanigan. Take it for what you will.

So what do I need to purchase in order to make this happen?

You could try an iconnectivity audio4c, this can host two devices so can be used to route audio from the MPC to a computer and vice versa. But some people have reported cracks and pops when using this interface. Akai Force example here, will be the same with the MPC One+

I thought the MPC Key 37 only did class compliant midi, not audio, in standalone?

Yes, just MIDI, not audio.

Well, this isnt Maschine, which doesn't even function without a computer. The MPC is an MPC, and its always been a standalone workstation all its own.
