New MPC3K User - Few Questions

Hey! recently just bought a mpc3k and have been loving it.

it had scsi2sd in the front of it and i was given a 2gb card.

the one the previous owner gave me only shows up on my mac as 1 partition and i want to have more space and not switch out sd cards constantly.

so i found a 128gb sd card i had and formatted that with Mode 1 on the MPC and that shows all 26 partitions on my sd card so i could potentially use each partition as a new session on the MPC3K. I know its overkill amount of space so id just maybe reformat the card they gave me to show up like that on my mac since from my understanding... you couldnt get more than 1 gb out of the MPC storage?

So heres what im wondering (yes i have been searching the forum but it is hard to find concrete steps/explanations from modern users):

whats the best way to use storage with the mpc3k and an sd card through scsi2sd?

It'd be helpful to include what OS you have on your 3K. You might get more help that way. Vailixi OS made certain improvements to SCSI disk management.
But you have your 26 partitions so i think youre nearly there..

You are correct - the upper total size limit the 3K can see is 1 GB from memory lol. The upper total partition size the 3K can read/load/save to at a time is about 32mb. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

I dont use SCSI2SD so i dont know what improvements may have been made there. You might save some $$ on buying smaller SD cards in future or maybe not. There will prob be be gigabytes of unused storage in your 3K cards from now on but at least SD cards are way cheaper than CF which i use

But you need to get at least 1 more card to use exclusively for interfacing with your mac. Don't use SD cards randomly with mac or mpc or whatever. Hopefully one card can handle your mac-mpc transfer needs. I have one of my CF cards designated for that purpose, also for when i wanna back up CF mpc cards to my mac.

Yes that card also needs to be formatted in the 3K.

If SCSI2SD has changed what is possible in these rules of MPC3000<>SCSI drives then ah im sorry. I'm assuming these rules do remain. Good luck
