Hello, I'm French and not very comfortable with English (thanks to Google Translate :D). So sorry for any mistakes... I have 1 MPCX. I made a song in Song mode. But when I record to export to MP3, some automations are not good on 1 of the sequences. This is not what I recorded. When I listen to the sequence, the automation is recorded well. But bug in Song mode. Do you know this problem? It's very annoying! I'm in version 2.15.1 because otherwise I can't work on the songs on the desktop MPC2 software. Thank you

Are your tracks in the same order for each sequence? For example...

Sequence 1
Track 1: Kick
Track 2: Clap
Track 3: Snare
Track 4: Hi-Hat

Sequence 2
Track 1: Kick
Track 2: Clap
Track 3: Snare
Track 4: Hi-Hat

Sequence 3
Track 1: Kick
Track 2: Clap
Track 3: Snare
Track 4: Hi-Hat

Etc...

AKAI did with 3.X but trashed too many useful things in the process...

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it's in the same order. After restarting playback in song mode several times, the automation was done correctly and I was able to record. And I noticed that the sequence at the beginning of the song that was bugging started with the same automation as a sequence much further in the song (at the moment when I stopped playing the song in anger :D ). Is there a reason? It's still not normal. Anyway

Whatever automation value is at the end of a sequence carries over into the next. If you want that, cool.

If you don’t want that then at the end of a sequence you need to get that automation value to zero/0 so as not to carry on into the next sequence, a sort of “reset” prior to sequence end.

If you stop playback, the automation remains until it’s “told” to change, an automation change in LIST EDIT.

Me, I go into LIST EDIT and hunt down automations:
set them to zero at the end of each sequence
or
set them to a specific value at the beginning of each sequence.

I'm having the same problem on my MPC X and all of my tracks are in the same order for each sequence. I've learned by trial and error about how automations carry over from one sequence to the next and how you have to make sure to clear or manually reset each value (which is very annoying - the automation carries even when you are just scrolling through sequences).

But I also played back a whole song in song mode and the automations were fine but when I listened to the rendered song / wav., some parts were cut out, even though there was no automations before that element of the song came in.

Also I don't know if this is related or not - it could have been my fault for using this earlier in the song - but my tracks mutes have been bugging out, constantly turning on and off and being applied after I know I turned them off or even automated them off.

Seriously these have been pissing me off. The irony: I just bought an MPC X used, but also upgraded to 3.4.3 the very next day, so for a minute I thought my hardware was failing and was about to lose it. But seeing this thread, yeah I'm sort of relieved that others are experiencing the same thing.

I love the MPC platform and invested a lot into it, but I will admit, I am getting kind of annoyed with the amount of jank that comes with it.

Thank you. Everything is much clearer now! That's how we learn...
One last point to finish: at the end of my song, I programmed 2 seconds of silence in the panel reserved for recording for export. But when I listen to the result in MP3 or WAV, a few unwanted notes play at the end after a period of silence (the one at the end of the song) when there should be no more sound.
MPC is definitely giving me a hard time...

Maybe a sample in the last seq is still going, “note on”.
Check EACH sample in sample edit.

Maybe an effect is still going.
Check EVERY effect that may cause long tails.
TURN OFF effects, and try again, does it happen?

Thank you. I'll try more later. No time for the moment. And I 'll make you a report ;)

I'm replying a little late. I've gotten back into MPC. And yes, by tinkering with List Edit, I was able to remove the unwanted effects. Thanks again!

This right here is probably the quickest way to correct it. No messing about with the pencil tool trying to correct the tails.
