I recently purchased the MPC Premiere bundle after having used MPC Beats for a while and really love the UI and workflow.

One problem that I've encountered though, on both of my laptops with seperate licenses, is that although the Audio Track (e.g. Audio 001) is armed, monitoring is set to auto, there's a signal incoming (tried with both my USB-interface as well as the internal laptop microphone), the track will not record. The cursor scrolls along the track as it stays empty.
Weirdly enough, I can record in sample and looper mode, there's no issues there, only when trying to record an audio track!
When I re-installed MPC 2.15 and adjusted the settings accordingly, for about 3 seconds the audio track recorded, I could play it back, but then could not record again.

This issue persists when using MPC Beats.

Is there some setting I have overlooked?

It's not a hardware issue, I can record audio just fine with any other DAW on my laptops, and as stated above, there's no problems when recording a sample or loop, with the exact same settings.

I'd be grateful if anyone has any ideas, or if they've encountered something similar.

Cheers,
ynck.

Update, I figured out what I did wrong.

Since I had only been making beats prior, and not vocals, I always used "overdub" as the standard way of recording, by just pressing shift+R. Turns out, this doesn't work with the audio track ;)

Just goes to show, don't rely on your habits :)

Have a good one,
ynck.
