Loop...meaning Fresh battery fix the date and time issue. I replaced the battery with said type but the time/date did not correct itself. I wonder if you take the battery out let the MPC 4000 sit for a few hours to purge and then replace battery. What was your procedure?

I checked the service manual and there isn't much direction on how to remove the PC operation block, which the Q link section is on. Some day... I will replace those damn q-link faders..

AS far as I can tell, I will have to remove the top panel, disconnect every cable from the PC operation block, unscrew about 20 screws holding it down to the bottom panel so I can desolder and replace the faders. Am I on the right track?

i think you are but better start a new thread if you run into problems

I just popped it out while it was off, switched in a fresh duracell from the store (CR2025), popped it back on and made global changes, after reboot all was well.

Only thing I could think of is there is another battery style slot somewhere on the MPC. the one I replaced was kind of dead center of the MPC (maybe under like Pad 10 if you're looking at it with the case put together..)
Or if for some reason your replacement battery was no good?

Hope you can figure it out, I love how the age of these machines just means there is always something funky to figure out haha

Yeah I replaced the battery even after taking the old out and letting it sit for several hrs before putting the new one in. Still nothing. In fact I turned in on tonight after a few months and it’s going back and forth from 00:00:00 to 05:00:00 every few seconds while it’s counting up which I’ve never seen before. So weird.
