Any other place to get replacement Q-Link Slider PCB Board..

other than: mpcstuff and vstservice?


Both places are out of stock and just wondering if I am missing a site that may have it (for the 2500).

If I posted in the wrong section please forgive me. I also have done a search and the same two places show up with no mention of others.

it's a very, very simple board and should be easy to fix

drop akai or some music stores a mail. they may help you out (in case they also doing repairs).

Nym- Q1 slider is not working (at all). Everything else on the Q board works fine including all buttons. Before I take the MPC apart and make sure it just does not need to be re-soldered I want to have all options available and ready (and so if I make a mistake and fry/mess the whole board up).

TheUnf**kwithable- I usually read around here to find options away from contacting Akai unless need absolutely be. In this case I might shoot them a email and see if they ran into any spars while digging for other stuff. Last I knew they didn't have any extras for the public.

spp - a thumbless dolphin with a glass eye would have a hard time frying that board. i'm betting you can just order the slide pot (qlink) from farnell, mouser, etc....desolder the original and solder in the new.

^ That's for sure the plan and I never had problems fixing other electronic stuff that needed it. I think that I just wanted motivation and reassurance that all will turn out well and you gave it to me. Thanks!

The Akai part number for the slider is RF45112P6 L15 B103X2.
Apparently the slider is equivalent to Alps RS451121400A, see the specs here:

Naturally it could be some special order part, there are several options listed in the data sheet. Still, I don't really believe Akai would bother specifying non-standard components. And I don't feel like cracking my MPC open at the moment just to measure if the mounting tabs/holes are exactly 56 mm apart.

Does anybody happen to have a spare Akai slider? It might be useful to take measurements and compare them to the data sheet. And check the resistance too, in case it is something else than 10 kOhm.

..aaalright, I've tried the TT Electronics one (PS45M-0MC2BR10K) on my MPC 2500 and I can confirm with 100% certainty that they do indeed work!

The Fader Caps sit a little bit loosely, but this can by circumvented by putting a tiny piece of plastic foil inbetween the shaft and the cap. One other thing I've noticed is that there is a little bit of travel towards the top end of the fader without the values changing, but I don't think that will be a problem in everyday practice.

On that occasion I also bought a couple of the ALPS Faders suggested above - RS451121400A

They do NOT work, at least not on the MPC 2500. They do fit into the PCB and they will also work fine I assume, but the shaft is much too high, so there will be a 5mm gap between fader cap and MPC. That's a pity since ALPS are the OGs of faders and pots and it would certainly have been nice to have high quality replacement faders.

The faders are dual faders 10K ohms linear btw, I measured them.
