Same number of knobs, ports and buttons, just organised in a more useful way.

Volume and gain knobs moved to top
Swap front phones jack to full-sized rear TRS
Move pad bank buttons closer to pads
    Internal battery
USB-3 in 2025 (if not USB-C) unless it breaks class compliant devices

Full-sized TRS on the back for phones makes the port infinitely more versatile - mangle sounds via pedals or split off kick, bass (or click) when playing live.

I don't agree smaller means cheaper/painful. Form factor is all about the best tool for the job, so why not make the MPC One the best it can be?

But but I think every modern MPC needs to at least have 8 qlinks to be able to adjust start and end points of chops at the same time without circling through the four sets.
Probably my biggest gripe and the reason I basically stopped using mine. I even prefer chopping on the Move nowadays…

Having 4 Qlinks makes the One cost less. Akai Figures if you need more QLinks, its time to step up the X. Its only but so many Luxury Items you can Fit into a Compact Economy Car

The Force got 8 knobs each with own screen. Just saying. Maybe they can make a MPC with 8.

It's one of the things that stop me from using Key61 more.

if akai were a serious company... they'd be putting out a usb module that is just the 16 q links with oled from the X.

if akai were a *really* serious company they'd also figure out how to stack this ontop of an 8x8 audio interface and make a killing selling mpc "upgrade kits"

I'd buy this IF also universal so that I may use it with any other gear.

heh, i thought about that... but I figured it would be enough of a feat for akai to just get it working with their own proprietary stuff.. and that asking for universal plugnplay would be a bridge too far ;)

if Akai were a serious company, Global MIDI Learn would already be working in standalone...
