A new MPC may come out before a new gen is what I was saying. Maybe a new Live with more RAM or new model completely, but still part of the current gen. If it don't have a clip-matrix & a crossfader I don't really care, tho it's still fun to spectate... but that video was comical.

I did not watch the video; nor did I read the comments, from the thumbnail he did not look like a knowledgeable person regarding Akai product history, so I presumed he would have an uninformed simpleton perspetive on what form the new product migh take.
Most of these dudes are trend chasers and content makers; they did not have any passion for music prior to social media and it shows.
Regarding the new machine NOT being a next gen machine, of course that is a possiblity, but I think based on circumstantial evidence its more likely that this will be a next gen product.
Consider that this will be the first new hardware product released post the next gen software going live; so it only makes sense that the hardware is in keeping with that.
This new product will be the first to ship with 3.0 as standard, so clearly the hardware must be next gen to be in tandem with the new software.

Honestly the current models are very capable machines for making music.
jpeg wrote:we know Fanu has the inside scoop; but yes the current machines are capable, but live 1and X are approaching a decade old chipset.

It's true that many "influencers" etc are not necessarily great at the things they cover.
I see ppl give mixing advice all the time with lots of likes etc but the advice may be trash or questionable.

I watched a couple of his videos and one where he’s showing off how to processes drums in the mpc and he’s starting off with already heavily processed drum one shots and drastically running them through tube, distortion, lofi and others. It’s cool if that’s the sound he wants but it was presented as like a beginners guide on drum processing lol. So bad

- A new device with FCC ID Y4O-ACVG has surfaced
- Model code fits the MPC lineup (e.g. ACVB = MPC Live II)
- Bottom label layout and housing outline match the Live II exactly
- Uses the same 19V/65W power supply and includes a battery, plus upgraded WiFi 6 and Bluetooth LE
- No schematics or images of the top panel are available, so pads can’t be confirmed — but all signs point to a new standalone MPC in the Live series tradition
- Akai filed for 180 days of FCC confidentiality starting June 2, 2025, meaning document protection runs until late November
- Akai could announce the device any time before that — summer 2025 is a realistic launch window
To verify:
https://fcc.report/company/Inmusic-Brands-Inc → entry from 2025-04-01, ID Y4O-ACVG → click Y4O-ACVG → click Detail then OK (all the documents are there) → open Confidentiality (fourth from top) → PDF dated June 2, 2025
(i.e. All other documents confirming the above points are also downloadable there)
