I watched a couple of his videos and one where he’s showing off how to processes drums in the mpc and he’s starting off with already heavily processed drum one shots and drastically running them through tube, distortion, lofi and others. It’s cool if that’s the sound he wants but it was presented as like a beginners guide on drum processing lol. So bad

Eh.. Malo’s a good guy, though. He at least has the wherewithal to not bang on about a fake MPC Mini.

Who cares if he’s a good guy? The point was dudes having huge followings giving terrible advice. Blind leading the blind.

I’d much rather listen to a guy who knows what he’s doing and can give me good advice even if he’s a dick.

I've seen Malo's videos. I pointed some of mistakes but he's pretty honest when dealing with something outside of his range & when he stays in his which what he's been doing lately, most of his advice is on point, but it mostly stuff I already know.

When you say he gives bad advice that could mean could mean he said one thing wrong or he's always wrong. So what would you say is his accuracy % based on what you've seen?

Ok joking aside, i like andy macs videos hes the primary influencer, influenced me to buy an mpc 4 years ago. Bolo da producer has this happy dr hibbert vibe and he's always up in arms about his ideas so as to admit he might be wrong so I like to watch him too.

BTW Andy Mac is great - he definitely makes good stuff in the videos and exhibits and inspiring vibe.
The session with Illa J is great…almost made me buy the Keys, ha!

Maybe he’s learning but I don’t watch his videos anymore. I peeped a few and could tell he was a beginner (which is fine. Not hating) but then I saw he was selling “courses” and I so i knew he was a grifter.

He started his course later on, but that's none of my business. I may had say something wrong in the pass like most humans, but he has enough info to teach the basics that's in his lane. I think he a grifter because he selling courses while making free videos on YT which take up a lot of time & energy.

I think he did a great job on his last video:

It might be a Live 3 SE with 4GBs or a MPC/Force hybrid. You're really gonna want to steal it after it gets updated. It's getting MPC & Force specific features. The Force Keys in the pic only had a 8x5 pad layout. I hope they changed it to 8x8 if they do release it.

I wanna steal it now lol. gimme *snaps pincers* I think the force will be the more memorable beat machine in a decade or so. Theres a zillion mpc's floating around now but not so many force units which actually do all that mpc shit + some. If we are destined to be pushed to that work flow id rather have a device that it suits well.

Would you be interested in joint ownership with the devil of my soul? I can cut you in for 49% for your force lol.

I don't agree that force does the same thing as mpc. Audio processing on force is flawed. There's not even an overdub on the audio track. Audio recording in clips is also poor. Longer recordings are only possible in the arranger, where again, operation and possible corrections are very difficult.
I once recorded an audiobook on MPC. I couldn't even make a short audio track on force and gave up.
I like the 64 pads in force, but I prefer the mpc workflow and working on sequences.

This is patently false. You can record audio into Clips as long as you want. Create a clip. Adjust the bars as long as you need. Then record into it.

You can only record audio in a newly created clip, the length of which you must set before pressing record. There is no possibility of adding corrections.
Can you record an entire audiobook without editing and corrections?
In mpc you can easily do overdubs, in clips you can't. In mpc you can also extend the length of the sequence after recording a fragment. You can also edit, cut, rearrange, for example after a slip of the tongue or after removing a deep breath. Try doing it in akai force clips ;)
