MSXII Lo-Fly audio coloring plugin coming to MPC

I like ring the alarm... I actually really like it.. it is kind of got a 303 vibe to it and it is the only plug in with a absolutely crazy filter.. that filter is amazing.

I'm not sure I really understand this one yet though.. it some like it just makes things louder and rounds the sound so it is all mid at varying degrees.. plus it seems to distort very easily.

Got Lofly on trial now. Haven't read or watched anything yet so my thoughts...
Tested on a channel and master with various kits and loops.
The first MSXii (module?) sounds the best. The most subtle of the bunch but adds usable warmth and vibe the more you turn the knob.
Mpc60 - way too ringy on kicks even when the knob fully counter clockwise. Best when put on individual samples/pads.
404F - smooth low pass filter. Could do with a bit more resonance.
404V - vinyl crackle and degrader, but to my ears sounds more like an overlay rather than making your samples sound like they are from a record.
SP1200 - nicer the more you push it but meh.
8bit - Bit reducer meh
Sk5- actually sounds like a real sk5 when you get the sweet spot.
Every mode is effected on how hot the input level is. Some quite drastic tone changes happen. Would be nice to have auto gain on the output. A wet/dry knob and a bypass switch.
I don't really see the point of the plugin when you have these sort of effects already on the MPC. As a vst for a daw, there are freebies that do the same. It's a ten dollar plugin at best.

It’s a bit off-topic, but I think the closest thing to the 404's Filter+Drive on the MPC is the combination of the Model2 filter on the pads and the TubeDrive in Pad FX.

I agree. Those Drum FX are pretty good without resorting to plugins. Likewise those filters.
I'd say a touch of "Bass Tight" or "Bass Mid" too before the TubeDrive gives it a little extra and sounds great when filtered.
In the context of Lo-Fly being an easier one knob solution, I'd say experimenting with even the basic tools in the software can get similar results but with a lot more satisfaction. Finish off with one of the "vintage mode" plugs like sp1200 or mpc60 and your golden.

The Drum FXs are so dope. Don't forget about the Bit Crush & Decimator.

Hell yeah. The Drum FX section needs to be updated.

Drum efx section is underrated in my opinion. Agree it needs “all pads” it’s all I use these days when processing drums and one shots.

How about the Flavour pro?
I was thinking about buying it, I kinda like the free one but I need more options on it.
