Hip Hop is being gentrified by modern politics, wealthy sceners with influence and fasion wieners.
Since when was hip hop about gucci shades and leather stuff? Or having your head look like you cut it with a pencil sharpener? I remember us laughing at these kinds of videos like "THAT AINT IT!" Now it seems to be the standard. Dude's manscaping all weirdly, rainbow braids, metal teeth... songs where dudes talk about dicks.. the fek man.
"Don't say this don't say that act like this don't be yourself. You gotta try to fit in if you wanna be down!".
What is goin on for real? I guess we need a new artform to use as a vessle of expression cus Hip Hop has been busted out like a prison ho.
When rap is devoid expression of indivdual and thought then it aint really hip hop is it?
I miss when hip hop was you and me and a set of turntables and a crate of records, we were hip hop. They aren't hip hop...
