Hi all ,

Just a quick question since I'm new to the MPC.
Does the MPC have something like the Oxi One has the Harmonizer track and the Squarp Hapax / Hermod has the transpose track?
So you can have tracks follow a track in terms of transpose? Or a kind of chord progression sequencer style like the Sinfonion.

you can use the "send to" field in the I/O section of the track strip to send the output of one track to another midi track. you can then transpose the target midi track.

That feature isn’t available, but you can chromatically transpose a sequence or individual tracks.

i really wished for this to be (possible to) controlled 'externally' / MIDI note

No? Hmm that's a shame then.
That would really be a good addition to the MPC.
Then I might have to buy the Squarp Hermod+ for that ‍ :Sigh: because i really love that!

Ah okay, I'll try that.
Can that also go to multiple tracks? (I don't have the mpc with me at the moment)

MPC Key61, v3.4.3
Plugin 1 (chnl 1) send to Plugin 2 (chnl 2)
Plugin 2 send to Plugin 3 (chnl 3)
Transpose Plugin 1 and all will follow.
Transpose Plugin 2 and 3 follows.
I hit keys on MPC Key61, no notes recorded into sequencer.

MPC X, v3.4.3
Plugin 1 (chnl1) send to MIDI 001 (Kronos2 trk 1 chnl2)
MIDI 001 send to MIDI 002 (Kronos2 trk 2 chnl 3)
Transpose Plugin 1 and all will follow.
I hit pads on MPC X, no notes recorded into sequencer.

All works as expected, as xantus said.

There’s no 1 function, you put together features and options of the machine to get where your going, first thing first, we need to “know” our machines.

Second, bugs are everywhere and sometimes you can’t get where you want to go, but, for this simple test, no bugs encountered.

Can't you set this up via putting all the tracks/samples semi-tone/global pitch on the same macro & set the knob range?

Personally, I am not really interested in global "transposition", but a chord track would be brilliant.

This allows for custom chord layouts and would follow the rest of the sequencer. Other tracks would then be able to draw from it, for various needs depending on the track type.

It's kind of like a tempo/signature track... ;)

The chord information can be sent to various MIDI destinations that simply just plays them or e.g. harmonizing of vocoders, or other devices that can use this kind of MIDI information. NOT just a single destination track.

I know there is the Pad *Perform* option, but that's not the same.

i know all kinds of plugins behave like this (like you say, simple autotune) but do you know of any hardware that has these kind of features?

I enjoy starting with a long chords track, and send it through MIDI to instruments that have different sorts of arpeggiators. I would love to do that with MIDI effects onboard the MPC, like various DAW do. MIDI effects are simple compared to audio processing, and their CPU load is negligible... A MIDI effects stack would be lovely to have parallel to the audio effects stack. Akai pliz. Also, the MPC's arpeggiator should be a MIDI effect, specific to a track and multiple instances should be able to exist in parallel - not like that strange global arpeggiator that only applies to the selected track.

If you're able to do some programming, I think you could probably implement features like transposition and scale quantize in hardware using the RK-002 Smart MIDI Cable.
