Akai 61 keys with loopy pro

I'm wondering if anybody who has an MPC 61 keyboard has had the same issue?
I can plug and play a cheap Casio MIDI keyboard with my Loopy Pro in my iPad, and it recognizes it, but when I tried to connect my MPC 61 through USB, nothing happens... Any ideas? I thought MPC had a USB midi port?

I believe this is only a feature for the MPC Key 37. With the Key 37 you create a MIDI track and set MIDI OUTPUT PORT to USB MIDI PORT 1. The MPC will now output MIDI via USB.

Yeah, BT MIDI has noticeable latency. Using a USB-DIN MIDI cable like the CME U2MIDI seems like a better option for connecting an MPC and an iPad.

Thanks for your answers. I will try with a USB-MIDI cable. All I want to do is get a better looper. Do you know a better solution for a looper with functionality like Loopy pro? Cheers
