How to ping pong loop a sample

Hey there,

I am new to the mpc, and have recently acquired a live 2. It’s been somewhat of a pain coming from maschine, because the maschine’s workflow is sooo fast and easy.

I am having trouble figuring out how to ping pong loop a sample. In the sample edit screen I see “loop” (and it appears to allow pong pong looping), however the damn thing just plays once and stops, without looping, without ping ponging.

Am I missing something? This should be an easy task, but I am finding it impossible.

Please help steer me in the correct direction. Thank you!!

It's a 4 way toggle. Press the loop button again to enable ping pong ('alternating') looping. Press again to set to reverse loop etc.

Off > Loop Forward > Loop Alt > Loop Reverse

Just to add, you can press Pad 11 or Pad 16 in the sample edit screen to preview the loop. And in the drum program, the loop will only play if the Pad's Sample Play is set to Note On.
