I’m having a hard time figuring this out. Or even if It can be done.

I want to set the pads on the 218 to change sequences on the key 37.

Anyone able to help?

In the editor i selected the pads I wanted and set them to program. Then set the numbers to 1 to 4 because I have 4 sequences.
I loaded it to device.

But that’s not working.

I do have the mpc set to program changes.

On the MPC, tap the upper right corner of the main screen to open the MIDI Monitor, then check the "In" tab to see if the Program Change messages are being received correctly.

It’s receiving note messages.
I’m using the first 12 pads for mixer mute and the 6 knobs for effects. Those all work but I don’t know what to do about sequence changes.

Check if it's receiving program change messages, not just note messages.
If program change messages are being received properly, and in the MPC’s Prefs > MIDI > Program Change settings it's set to Sequence, then you should be able to change sequences using program change messages.

It says note messages not program change. I have the mpc settings that you said. I have the editor on the pc saying program. I don’t know what else to do.

It seems like the MPD218 isn’t sending program change messages correctly. Try executing “Send to Hardware” from the editor menu to send the settings, and make sure the correct preset is selected on the MPD.

I set pads 13 to 16 type to program. I set the program numbers. Pad 13 is number 0 pad 14 is 1 etc..

I sent to hardware and saved as preset 1.

Mpd is plugged into mpc and preset 1 is selected.
Mpc midi input is set to program change - sequence.

Still not working……………

What am I missing?
