Yes, MPC3 has been released unfinished, very buggy and you cannot use it if you need to make music and perform it live.
Shame for Akai, that's not the way a good brand manages things.
I recommend 2.15.1, give it a try, it works like a breeze and is stable if you don't have a complex midi setup.

I have tons of equipment from a much more advanced setup I used to have, which have all been relegated to cases in storage. I have a double rack (2x16 rack units filled with fun machines, like vocoders, odd F/X, etc.) on wheels that I intend to have accessible if any (semi-)larger projects or needs should arise.
Oh, and I also have an old EuroRack (maybe like 20-30 units in it or so) that I intend to connect with the MPC X. I put it together many years ago and it has a few very cool modules.
Anyways, I am trying to setup my ultimate minimalist (at least in terms of space).
I may not run the most complex MIDI setup, but what I have definitely works with v3 (which I like a lot). Do I sometimes run into issues? Of course it happens. Oddly enough, my sphere seems to remain intact when it happens. Akai has at least announced they're actively working on MIDI and TS.
I mean, after 7 years they have finally delivered the MPC X that's shown on their web site. At least what I took the MPC X to be at the time but really wasn't. Now I actually have one!
