MPC One - Pad perform velocity issue?

MPC One - Pad perform velocity issue?

Posting this on behalf of a friend, but she's gotten an used MPC. Does have wear on the pads and case, but loading up a drum kit does play sounds etc. One issue is and I can't test as I don't have one in front of me until I'm back. Is that she has a plugin and using pad perform to play chords. Now do any of you guys have issues with the pad perform whereby you have to press more lightly other wise the chords play at full velocity?. her settings for pads in settings are at default.

The MPC pads are great for drums, but when it comes to playing chords or melodies, I find the velocity either comes out way too soft or way too hard. Using an external keyboard would be a better option.

Thanks, did send her a video but I was going to go down with my retro one and see if there was any issues.

Sounds exactly what she is experiencing, I think if I remember the best way was to shift and full level to get half level to get better sounding results. However, a midi keyboard is what she's going to invest in next.

+1 I spent ages messing with the settings but just couldn't get it to sit right. I'm sure I could "practice" and train some muscle memory in if I had no other option, but keyboard ftw.

I agree, kybd is best for playing keys.
