I'm not being a negative nancy, i've used the force stuff enough to know that in the way in which it works on the akai force cannot properly translate to mpc. I programmed a pretty elaborate library to handle midi between mpc hardware and the force software, i am familiar with it. it's not going to work in that manner not without an APC to manage it. (unless we get a bunch of touch countrols) The mpc doesnt have the correct layout. I have made it work on mpc, but it feels like shit ask anyone who used my custom rom. they all went n got matrix controllers because i was able to code its stuff in at 1:1. no shifting through quadrants or using shift + hot key + pad to get a work around.

I got one. I'm interested to see how far Akai will merge the 2 platforms & how MPC users feel about using the more flexible clip-matrix?
I was speaking (in general) about the people that do not own a Force.

Been away from IT for 8 years and I do agree structural not possible on the current MPCs and I wouldn't want it anyway :-D

For these current gen MPCs, I thinking of mainly just having the clip-matrix as a touch screen option like it can already be used on the Force & maybe some limited pad launching like 4x4 grid. Ofc it wouldn't & be as smooth as on the Force, which was made for this, but it could be designed good enough as an alt sequencer option to let users get a feel for it & maybe demand a more hybrid unit.

Basically I can see many MPC users that don't know shit about the Force or never paid attention to it because it didn't have the name-brand "MPC" title, trying get Akai to remake the Force as a MPC32/64 without knowing that's what they're doing.

Brand name loyalty ain't no joke. To many users without that MPC name, it don't mean a thing. Most MPC users won't give up their MPC for all kinda of good & bad reasons. So bringing that feature to the MPC OS makes more sense. This gen may have a few more years left & this would be the best time to test a major new feature & let that inform them on how to build the new gen units that will could more or less like a merge between the 2.

Yes to this.
Since I know nothing about coding and I am still using MPC 2.15 all I can say is this:
I have a lot of projects on my MPC Live2 that I use for gigging in which I use the clip program. So I will continue to use the machine this way and pray that Akai re-introduce it at some future date. Looking at how they are bringing the 3.x OS into alignment between the Force and the MPC, I honestly cannot see how they would bring midi clips and plugin clips from the Force to the MPC.
If you look at the Force update doc for 3.5, Akai want there to be an equivalence between a Force scene and an MPC sequence.
I absolutely agree with your sentiment but my guess is that the only way to do it would be to introduce a 'Clip Track' into the MPC. Like the Force, it might reside on an audio track and only have audio files as clips. I'm uncertain as to how they would implement such a feature. Would we have access to all pad banks with 32 mute groups? Or would it be more limited? For example, it might have to be that each Clip Track counts as a mute group and there are only as many mute groups as audio tracks [as on the Force].
I honestly don't know, but I would like to think that they are working towards a solution. Remember, both OS are still technically betas. :hmmm:

I hope they dont implement it in that manner.

Tap to record on clips and the addition of midi clips + plugin selection for the clips would have sufficed. We dont need force-style clip launching it has no place on the mpc without all the input buttons to switch modes on the clip matrix.

I would venture a guess that IF, they wouldn't have two different implementations.

However, the way that hardware controls are mapped into that implementation is likely customizable to some point (though maybe only by Akai).
