Reverb PRO???
Ether???

Is it tons of fake news or are they really coming to MPC?

That would be a big game changer.

Not fake, dusty is legit. If he posts images of something weird like that its real. He isnt some dweeby gaslighter you can trust the things he says. Solid dude. Although who could blame straker for assuming that? There are lots of bogus cliams.

Trusty the dusty.

Hmm I didn't think we were supposed to be posting this kind of info considering the NDA agreement we all had to accept to become beta testers, but goes to show how lax Akai is with the whole thing. I don't even think I've logged into the forum in like half a year (and its been even longer since my MPC was even turned on or online) and they haven't booted me from it yet.

Air Ether is already available for PC and MAC and I can see that it needs a good amount of CPU cycles which I bet it will be very taxing on such an old quad core ARM. I am just speculating and sh*tposting based on what Dustyslices found. Not planning on breaking any NDA as this could potentially get the forum in trouble.

I got booted from the Air forum for not posting for 9 weeks or sth, lol

no NDA here, besides their fw is public and before any login page or anything, moreover - we don't release their code nor make any profit out of it. That's their choice to keep it on device instead of giving it to you as a fw update . Not much harm as long it's not plastered all over the internet (remember ACVK fiasco ? lol)

Trusty Dusty it is!
Man, that let that dude doubt get to you. We know what you're about.
Great find on these new features. I think Midlifesynthesist "Accidentally" revealed Reverb Pro months ago, I think on his Filterbank review. This year is gonna more fire than it's already been. 3.5 got the Force feeling like a new device & MPC PC beta hasn't even dropped yet.

Keep it trusty & dusty!

nah man, this stuff has zero importance in my life so there's nothing to get to me, besides I'm really thick skinned and I can't force anyone to believe in the stuff that actually is... unbelivable
That post was kind of tongue and cheek toward Ultros as he's the one who brought me to this stuff and showed me what can be done. Before that dude's era, my knowledge of Linux was at "rm -rf" level. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you guys don't fully understand what a nugget you have here and what is he capable of lololol
Ok, but enough with that brown nosing
bitermc wrote:What did he say about Pure Data?

:hmmm:

Did he say Pure Data have always been there???

Yes Pure Data... The exact Pure Data you think of :P
It seems that MPC does have (or had) support for multiple different types of plugins: LADSPA / SOUL /PURE DATA etc. but it looks like the only latter one can be actually enabled atm because they went into effort of limiting the number of instances of the PD inside of MPC app. My guess is that it's used to quickly create a patch for testing purposes, for example when you want to quickly create a specific scenario with a specific state of plugin/ get a test waveform going/ send some midi data - you're not going to compile a new plugin that just does that, you wil quickly pull PD connect some dots, input some numbers and bada bing bada boom you have instance of plugin running. Problem is that it's too much effort to find out what the trigger mechanism is. I think that SOUL had the same purpose but this format was dead on arrival so they've stop using it - there is still some content embedded in the firmware though.

what is strange that CV Page and New Keygroups came out at the same time (that's why I knew about keygroups in advance) but only Keygroups been released as if they're really waiting to introduce them (CV) along with this "new device". Anyway, there's one dude on this forum who knows first hand but... I won't grass and leave him in peace

So... I'm not sure I got this, but sounds like MPC is capable out of the box to run LADSPA plugins and Pure Data patches, but these options have been restricted. Am I right?
By dustyslices Wed May 28, 2025 4:32 pm
I would say yes for Pure Data (everything points to that theory being true) but as I said before, nobody have time to dig (potentially pointlessly) to find out what the trigger mechanism is :/
When it comes to LADSPA, there is a chance that those references could be from some statically linked libraries that been used or just references from the desktop software.
SOUL patches were working, and I'm 100% sure on that , there was even a blog post on JUCE forums where one of the devs (i think it was Pete - not sure) said that they were running SOUL Patches on Force as an example of versatility of that language. As you've seen on the screenshot before - there's still some content leftovers in the filesystem. That language is dead though.
