They didn't fix the custom pad map bug :/ back to MPC 2 it is for me. That was a quick test and NOPE.

Report it to Akai. If you didn't already. I had to deal with MIDI pad maps months ago :vomit: they need to revamp that section.

I did that and the support said they will raise the issue. Maybe we should complain more about the situation that they rarely fix bugs.

Bugs dating back to 2.8 still not addressed, yet the $$$$ still keep rolling in regardless. Until people vote with their wallets there’s not much motivation for them to prioritise fixing these bugs

I'm sure some people would vote with their wallets if there would be an alternative solution / product by another company. However I can't see any competition especially for the MPC ONE.

On the other hand I wouldn't give up totally on AKAI yet. Sure they are super slow with certain bug fixes but they also fixed a bunch of annoying stuff since the new MPC series is available.

In the meantime I use it for what it does alright, although I doubt they will be ever able to compete with a DAW like Logic, Cubase, Ableton, Bitwig - at least not with the current CPU / RAM power.

It doesn't overwrite MPC 2.15. They install side by side thankfully.

Doesn't it give you the new keygroups?
Regardless it's an early beta that's meant for beta testers to find problem like Conan said in his new video he post today:

I was also expecting it to be a new program from the ground up but we just got a darker shade and more-or-less VST3 support..... I guess it is similar to the hardware MPC3 which to me seemed more like a new skin and a few added features rather than a completely new rewrite of the OS.

I don't really know where AKAI is going in the future, maybe they intend to evolve the OS rather than re-invent it. Maybe they are waiting for more powerful hardware before they can really introduce a full-blown "real" DAW in a box.

As Bolo mentioned in his recent video, I was also expecting the software to be a completely new ground-up rewrite, along the lines of the other DAW's out there but I guess AKAI doesn't have the coding team big enough to take on such a big task?

Personally I would much rather they focus on perfecting the standalone OS and adding HDMI out on new hardware so we can add a large monitor and maybe an expanded view for the external monitor, similar to what Roland managed to do 20 years ago with the MV series......just give me a modern version of that and I'll be happy.
I don't think AKAI is ever going to compete with Pro-Tools, Logic, FL, Ableton etc so why bother!

With the declining eyesight of the aging MPC users population, that has to be a priority.

Also, in 30 years, Bluetooth audio will come handy to connect my hearing aids !

I had to downgrade back to 3.4.3. The 3.5 firmware is riddled with bugs.

Frequent resets (your mpc recovered from an internal error).

16 levels bugs out frequently.(the pads don’t update to reflect the 16 levels).

Sample edit causes a regression on the pads when switching back main mode. (Selected pad is now green, shortly followed by an internal error).

These few are just the ones I can remember, there’s more :hmmm:
