What's the Purpose of a Beta OS & the Job of Beta Testers?

I have to ask myself sometimes....

Is there a STANDALONE Sampler/Drum Machine that is BETTER than the MPC...With EVERYTHING we all are requesting (For Free) out there?

Just pointing out that I’ve been permanently running a Reaper beta for the last five years, of which there is a new update posted every 4-5 days all year round. Akai’s beta is what would be considered an ‘experimental alpha’ which Cockos would never release like this. Akai need to get their shit together and spend more on highly skilled coders and less on influencers.

Akai does what it wants & that's why we love & hate'em!

Regardless of what it is beta/alpha, this 3.5 OS is meant for people to test it, report bug & suggestions. They should be more clear on why certain features are missing at least. Like do they only have the manpower to test out a limited set amount of bugs, but not the arranger in the software strange to put it nicely. I think they know a new update is out soon. They could be on MPC4 & are just letting us catch-up, but they already know how this movie ends.

Having Public Beta Testing costs a Tiny Fraction of what they would have to pay Dedicated Employed Beta Testers.
It gets the job done, over time. Akai just has to pull out the Kleenex Tissues for the Complainers. All we Have to do is Download it, Test it, Submit Bugs, be Patient and wait for the Updates.

Actually...They Do pay us....With Free Expansion Offers and Plug-ins. I'm cool wit that. They Gave us a Bunch of "Paid" Plugins...(That I was about to pay for)

I mean 3.xx doesn't stop me from making Music. A Second Hand MPC with 2.xx would be a wise purchase, if 3.xx doesn't have that feature support that's needed.

I agree with most of this, but like Tutor was saying, Akai should have a better way of letting us know what been reported already. A pie chart with the % of each reported bug would an improvement & would give us a sense of our effort being seen.

More importantly Akai should should make video explaining what they intended with this public beta & who should not use it or wait for the "official OS." They also just come clean & admit that the standalone OS is in beta.

They put out their "Plans" with the Release Notes...kinda

Basically Akai is saying,..."Ehhh We're workin on your concerns. Please be patient"

Every time I try a new approach to a song, a new workflow, I stumble across new bugs. And this is on version 2. Drives me crazy.

Akai is that friend who, when you see them calling, you immediately say, This mothafu*ka, shake ya head, but pick anyway cause even tho they get on your nerves, they take you out & pay for everything to make up for it cause they even know they be on bs.

It's all a ploy to get you in the car with em so they can lock all the doors roll the windows up and step on the pedal and take you on a 300kph run down the highway weaving in and outta traffic while they shoot a selfie on their cellphone before careening into the back of a slower paced vehicle changing lanes. lol. if akai was a person, dude would be cooked TF out.
