Adding the clip-matrix to MPC seems like most logical move at this point in the development of MPC3 now that more Force OS features were added like the Arranger. Clips are way more fun when jamming & easier to use for testing a bunch of riffs/patterns to see what works than the MPC sequencer.

Plus the clip-matrix with its scenes can emulated the MPC seq by only playing just the clips/track in the scene, but has the flexibility to play clips/tracks on other scenes/seqs at once. On the Force there's a features that can make a new scene out the all the active clips no matter the scene they're on.

MPC3 seems like a test to see they should make the gen & see if the clip-matrix will catch on with MPC users & if they asks for more pads & dedicated buttons which would lead them to making a MPC32/64 as one of the new models. Maybe even a MPC128 made with Roger Linn.

The Force was a test to see how a MPC with more pads & clip-matrix would work out. Now MPC3 is gaining most of the Force OS features. Adding the clip-matrix will make users that like it start to request its physical features. I could be wrong but that's what it looks from us on the Darkside/Force.

2) they had a type of program where you could record audio while the transport was running, a bit like we do with an audio track on the new MPCs, but the recorded parts would become pad samples, and it would drop a midi note directly into your sequence where the recording started.

you can do this already using the Sampler.
select Trigger and choose Create Events at the keep screen

You would think!.... Maybe constant Midi Clock too?

And a choice of Clock and/or MTC on each port?

"MPC3 OS for Standalone will receive highly requested updates in Spring, including Flexible Time Signatures, Wireless Expansion Transfer, and Enhanced MIDI Recording & Playback - addressing user-reported challenges with external gear and additional new features that will further elevate the MPC3 OS experience."

Can't wait for this.

So, the Live 1, despite running the exact same hardware as the rest of them, is now 'unsupported'?

Does this mean my shit is vintage now and I can sell it for more?? Are they going to drop the original X too because its the exact same thing inside, just has more buttons and knobs on top..

It’s listed unsupported , but it works for me so far on the software beta. Another person posted they couldn’t get it working though.

I guess its almost always spring somewhere on the planet. But they didn't specify geographical location for spring in their post.

by end of september hopefully we have some word on this new mpc live and further developments to the 3.0 software

I hope with the live 3 they ditch the red colour scheme and return to a mostly black device, maybe with some red highlights.

I would also like to see some retro colour schemes like the one plus with retro colours would be a buy if the mpc live does not deliver anything interesting.

sometimes the live big heavy brick; is unsightly from angles.
