Money is for hardware. Piracy is for software. All these plugins are low-priority items when it comes to investing in and rigging a production studio. These are novelty digital trincates from the vending machine that is inMusic. The mpc despite being an all-in-one production unit is really shitty at a lot of the things and the whole fx suite is one of those things. Keep your money and buy some uber glassy pedal to go with your 10-20 channel mixer or interface that you most likely own. Then dont even bother with processing your shit on mpc.. cus its a slow and inefficient brick-walled way of formatting / mixing / eqing / applying effects to your music. It's honestly terrible for any of that. tbf we may as well just throw the box out and use the vst plugin in a daw we like. We all got punked.

No instant recall with external patching. VST laden MPC is a real time saver.

Zoom ms70cdr $100-ish usd best verb chorus delay processor you can find for the price imho. As always kudos to dustyslices for that.. dude even helped me mod mine.

When you spend your liquidity on intangible assets you're putting money to sleep. Cash money is merely property in transit, rich people don't keep money in liquid they invest into shit to shelter it from inflation or entities nosing around at their total worth. Most of them cant tell you what they got because its invested in assets, housing, comodities, fasion, tech, healthcare, areospace etc etc. The logic applies to every thing we buy. Folks who keep their fortunes in the bank are folks who don't know what money is for. It's a liquid state of solid assets or potential assets. However when in liquidity its subject to recalibration via inflation driven by unstable markets and governments. Solid wealth is a life vessel. Netflix, hulu, disney, itunes, spotify all that shit is renting you access and raking in billions of dollars diverted away from peoples ownership its sad. People rent access to the internet to rent services to gain access to media they can buy on tangible media at cornerstores and garage sales for peanuts. The world has gone crazy.

Plan beyond the mpc its an interchangable piece of hardware that will eventually be outdated and everything you spent on this unit will be lost in time. Right now you are renting the use of those plugins you dont even own it permanently. Let that really sink in.. you didnt buy nada. you hold nothing you have nothing to resell and unless you renew your plugin validations you dont get to use them. You are renting them. Everyone seems to think they have ownership of the plugins, no they have entitlement of access to the plugins.

That is not an improvment its a diversion of wealth away from ownership.

the web site says:
"AIR Ether is designed to run on standalone MPC systems running 2.14 or later,"

There is a chance that I've mixed up something as I have 4 different versions disassembled (including force) but last time I've checked and from what I recall, 2.x had some strings with regards to their desktop counterparts only.

Don't know what it says on the website but the limit is there - personally checked it yesterday.

As for the idea of akai constantly dropping new plugins instead of focusing on fixing the bugs, I'm with Ultros on this one - Tangible items are the way to go. First of all, the idea of plugins constantly deactivating and idea of Akai suddenly deciding to remove plugins from the activation list and failing to update the software so they can work without activation driving me nuts. Then, even if you chose to ignore the tangible/non-tangible rented/owned debate, you have the pricing model which is completely out of wack: introduction price $49 goes to sale at $29 and that goes to $79 (with rsp of $129) later on but only for a week because of another "last chance sale" is at $49 again just to go back to sale of sale at $29. Doesn't matter if you buy it at $49 or $29 though because as soon as you press that buy button, those plugins will be given for free to all other users. Worst thing is that some of those plugs are just straight up recycled algos with really minute tweaks and repackaged in a different skin.

True, but we all still die anyway & can't bring nothing we rent or own with us. Have fun while you can! :smoker:
