Noticed something strange that could well be particular to the specific thing I'm doing right now, so I'm basically just documenting it in the unlikely chance that someone else may encounter it :
After spending several months with the MPC Live, transferring entire sets of beats for live gigs across from the 1K, I reached the point where I got sick of it's problematic / erratic behaviour & failing to be stable for stage use - so I'm back on the trusty 1K!
I have a few newer beats that I made on the Live that I needed to get across to the 1K, as they are now part of our live sets - I didn't even attempt to open the program files on the 1K as it's a completely different format, so I just made a folder with all the samples & transferred them onto the CF card. Of the course the Live won't export sequences as MIDI files, so I had to build the sequences from scratch on the 1K as well as the programs..
Anyway! - The weird thing I noticed with the samples brought over from the Live, anything set to 'NOTE ON' in the program menu is now looping! 'ONE SHOT' samples are fine same as ever, so things like kicks, snares, hats etc are all good, but all the other samples loop when they get to the end indefinitely, so long as I hold the pad..
Not a big deal, just very odd - I just had to be very careful to take my finger of the pad for each sample before it loops back to the start whilst I was recreating the beats on the 1K.
First thing I did once I had the beats done & saved, was go back & open another original 1K project, everything as normal there, so it's not the machine or a new JJ bug out of the blue, which is reassuring at least!
Not sure exactly what might cause this, maybe some kind of metadata in the WAVs from the MPC Live causing a glitch? Not too sure!
Anyway, thought it might be worth mentioning, not really expecting a solution or to find anyone that's found this same little glitch - as I can't imagine there are many other folk bringing modern MPC files into JJOS machines!
