MPC 3.5 Standalone Bug Reports

On 3.5 i have a lot of midi Programs wirh. CC mapping and names.
When I load the midi program it doesnt schon my names for the CCs.
When I open the file in a text editor i can see the names.

And I had my first crash and the hour work is gone

Timing correct and note selection

On 3.5.0 (but it's present since the 3 beta if I remember correctly) there's a small bug with event selection and changing TC.

Repro steps:

1. In Grid view, turn off Global Timing Correct
2. Record some beats
3. Select a bunch of notes so they're highlighted
4. Turn TC back on
5. Now nudging with the wheel won't move the visually highlighted notes, but move the playhead. To move the notes, you have to select them again[/list]

With the Mpc slaved and following program changes from Octatrack. The MPC jumps to a random sequence when pressing double stop quickly on my Octatrack.

I'm having random jumping between slices happening in Sample Edit. And the screen is often not "jumping" to the correct slice when triggering the slice after adjusting the start point. I need to first select another slice manually and then go back to the slice I was working on for the visual to "refresh".

When selecting multiple notes in the arrangement view and nudging the notes while zoomed in using the main encoder (wheel) . The area of focus is somewhere in the middle of the selected notes. So it is impossible to align the first note of the selection to where I want it.

I need to manually scroll to the first note, then try to count how manu steps off it is, then nudge again with the wheel. And every time I rotate the wheel the view jumps to the middle of the selected notes. Meaning I cannot see the first note of the selection.

This update has been an absolute nightmare for me.

For context I am currently using the MPC One + in my live set up for the synth plugins and also to trigger samples alongside an external midi keyboard / fx chain.

Some of the issues I am facing…

- Touchpad frozen when powering up (have to switch on and off multiple times in order to get it to work)
- When adding more tracks to a project I used for a previous live show (to lengthen the set) I’m having an insane amount of issues; samples missing from drum pads that appear on previous versions of the project, samples missing from keygroups, projects not loading at all “failed to load the project error” and most catastrophically of all projects corrupting entirely.

I’m at a complete loss. I’ve already built the new set three times and every time I fix one thing something else seems to go wrong.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. At this point I am contemplating alternatives (MainStage / Ableton) as I have no faith in the device working (even if I manage to get a whole project working in principle) when I come to play my next show.

The really irritating thing is it’s going to take me days to build everything from scratch again. I’ve got a really important show next week so need to act fast!

Really what I want to know is if anyone else is running into the same problems? Is it a universally experienced bug or am I doing something specifically wrong?

Work arounds I’ve thought of are splitting the set across two projects to save processing power (which is not ideal given how long they take to load). Converting all of the keygroups into drum tracks (manually pitching the same sample on each pad) - although I’m still having issue with the drum tracks as previously mentioned.

[MPC Key 37] Still having Favorite sounds issues. When I tap on a Favorite, most of the time it selects the 1st patch for that plug-in. If I tap it again, it selects the correct patch. I have tried "Overwriting" the favorited patch, this does not help. If you stay within the same plug-in, all is fine when you change favorites. As soon as you select a favorite that belongs to a different plug-in, it selects the very first patch every time.

Example; I have patch "Fabric XL / Belly Stack" saved on Page 1 / Slot 4 of the Favorite patches. Upon clean boot, I go to Favorites. tap Slot 4 / Page 1 labelled "Belly Stack". And it loads "Fabric XL / Awakening". If I tap Slot 4 / Page 1 again, it actually loads "Belly Stack".

[Feature Request] Some Plug-Ins and Presets take much longer to load. The new NI plug-ins have a way of showing you that it's loading so you know when the patch is ready for playing. I wish all the MPC plug-ins did this. Like a progress/busy bar.

Hi everyone,I’m experiencing a frustrating issue with my MPC X SE running MPC 3.5 Standalone. When using my Metric Halo ULN-8 mkIV as an Audio Class Compliant interface (44.1 kHz/24-bit, 32 outputs, 8 inputs for external compressors/EQs), I get white noise after 2-3 minutes, requiring a session restart to temporarily fix it. This setup worked perfectly under MPC 2 Standalone, but the issue started with MPC 3.5.I found a similar report in the MPC 3.0 bug thread about a Zoom L-8 having noise, hiss, and audio dropouts, suggesting a broader Audio Class Compliant issue in MPC 3.x. Has anyone else encountered this with the ULN-8 mkIV or other interfaces on MPC 3.5? Any fixes, like adjusting buffer size or reducing channels?I’ve submitted a ticket to Akai (no response after 3 days) and plan to follow up. Has anyone heard about a potential MPC 3.5.1 or 3.6 update that might address this? I’d love to keep using the linear arranger in Standalone, so switching to Desktop isn’t ideal.Thanks for any insights or workarounds!

Sorry, I meant controller mode.

In the top dropdown menu (the one you access scrolling down from the top of the screen), the Loop button only works with Sequence 01:

1- In main menu, select a sequence other than the first,
2- go to the Arranger (or Grid)
3- dropdown the top menu and touch the Loop button, the on/off change (in the menu)
4- BUG : but when you close the menu, you see that it had no effect on the loop the sequence (it only works with the first sequence).

Still forced to activate all of my plugins every single time I turn on my MPC X. I'm 100% signed into my inMusic profile on my X. Can see my name and info there. It's not the end of the world but it's extremely annoying when you're trying to get a session going or you load up a previous project for a potential client and you go to press play and half your sounds won't even play due to several plugins not being activated upon turning on the MPC. I literally have avoided purchasing more plugins for my MPC just because it's already annoying enough to have to activate 4 different plugins every single time I turn this thing on!

Changing sequences while holding a note on a pad will cut off the note on sequence change. I have so far tested with internal plugins, but perhaps the same is true for midi tracks.

This is a big issue when trying to play things live!

Annoying that with 3.5 firmware they should consider changing the name of the devices to MPC (non)LIVE to give truer image of what to expect when buying the MPCs...

I got an error with the length when mixing down a song or a sequence to an audio file.
For example, if I have a sequence or a song with 192 bars, MPC will only export the file with 130 bars or some random number of bars.
This error occurs whether it is song mode mixdown or sequence mixdown.

The only way I can mix down the entire length is to use song mode mixdown, but I have to SPECIFICALLY double check that I have enabled the Loop button with the entire length on EACH sequence in the project.

Do you have wifi always on?
Turn off wifi if you do not need to use wifi when using the MPC. Should make you not need to activate every time. I had the same issue when having wifi always on.
