Hi everyone,

Help ! I can't get my MPC One to work correctly with my Boss RC505 mk 2. I'd like to receive midi clock from the RC505. Indeed i succeed to receive midi clock in the midi monitor. But the tempo of the MPC is not synchronise to it...

I ve tried to resolve this for a while, i need help from community.

Sorry for my english

Thanx for your help

Hi, the MPC OS is 2.15.1 and midi settings :

INPUT PORTS
mpc - all checked (global control track)
RC 505 mk2 - all checked (global control track)

OUTPUT PORTS
MPC - all checked (sync track)
RC 505 mk2 - all checked (global control track)

ENABLE MIDI PORTS checked

MIDI CONTROL MODE OUTPUT - none

SYNC RECEIVE
receive - midi clock
ableton start stop - not checked
receive MMC - checked

SYNC SEND
sebd - off
send mmc - checked
mtc frame - 30 drop
start time - 0 0 0 0

MIDI INPUT
filter all notes off CC - not checked
program change - off

RC505 mk2 midi settings :
RX CH
Ctl - 1
rythm - 10
voice - 1
tx ch - 1

SYNC OUT
clock - auto
out - auto
start - off

pc out off

THRU
midi in - off
usb in - off

yesterday i noticed that when i play a track on mpc, it is right with the clock, if i don't play nothing is happening.

Howewer, i d like if possible to make the MPC ONE master and RC 505 mk 2 slave but i didnt get any clock signal from MPC to RC505... i ve tried also with roland spd sx, it s the same...

thanks for considering my problem

cheers

Used to have a mk1 RC505 and that sync'd well with my mk1 MPC. My RC500 syncs well with my Force, and the JD-Xi does too. Roland seems pretty reliable with these units.

It's going to be a settings or even cabling issue I'd think. From memory, if you want the MPC as master, you don't need it to receive MMC for example. Also, you've got 505 settings on auto - if you have both midi and usb cables plugged in to that, it might be sending/listening for clock on the 'wrong' one maybe?

I've read about both the MPC and the RC-505 Mk2 working better as MIDI master. I own both, but never connected them - they are part of two entirely distinct setups (studio introspection vs. fooling around live with the kids). But next month I might try that and I would also prefer the MPC as MIDI master... So I'm watching this thread !

For the holidays, I've set up the RC-505 mk2 as MIDI slave to the MPC One - works perfectly and I have good fun layering vocals and acoustic instruments over MPC tracks... The MPC as a MIDI looper while the RC-505 is its audio looper alter-ego.
