Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

Hello,

Wondering if anyone has seen this one before:

I cannot write any files to the internal HDD of the MPC 4000. Even with Ak.sys, it won't allow writing any files to the Root. Nor am I able to create new folders, either in Save page nor with Ak.sys. No error is given, the operation tries and thinks it completed successfully but no new files can be saved or folders made. I have resorted to using external USB but this would be great to resolve.

The internal hard drive on the Z8 and the MPC 4000 are formatted as a FAT filesystem. It's possible you could remove the drive and with the proper hardware get it connected to your computer. This might give you the opportunity to back the drive up, and perhaps take a look with some disk diagnostic tools to determine if there is a problem with the filesystem you could repair.

Will try this and let you know. There's plenty of free disk space. Could it be the 32 at the end of FAT that's causing issue?
