[MPC Live II] USB 1/2 question

USB devices negotiate power requirements with the port.
This communication may go wrong or include „misunderstanding“, it‘s a common experience regardless of platform.
Sometimes the device is the (main) culprit, sometimes the system/host...
(USB is an insanely complex protocol, documentation of specs is several thousand pages meanwhile)

But then why does it work on USB Port 2 without any extra power, but doesn't work on USB Port 1?

The bigger mystery is - how is it working at all since it's not officially fully USB Class Compliant? Regardless, sounds like you got a total win on your hands!

See if you can find another user in the area that would let you test. Then you can see if it's specific to your unit or just how they are made?

That's 100% a cable problem.

I have a live and the ssl2 first gen and they both work flawlessly using the card's usb cable thru usb1 or usb2 slots, with or without power cord connected. As soon as i use another usb cable, the card's lights start flashing.
