Recommended short video tutorials for MPC One 3.5 newb?

There are a fair number of hour long videos to "create your first beat". I watched one that was only 20 minutes long but couldn't really see what the guy was doing at critical points. I've had mine for a whole 3 days and have made a couple sequences I guess you'd call them but still feeling pretty lost.

There's the MPC Bible, which seems like it's very large. The table of contents is visible and it seems reasonable, although at the moment I don't know what I don't know other than "everything". Getting that is probably in the cards.

I'm not coming from MPC2 or anything other than Ableton Live, so I am not getting much out of "MPC2 vs. 3" videos. I like the way "Loopop" indexes his videos but AFAIK he hasn't done a comprehensive one yet on MPC 3.x.

So, any favorite YT video resources that are recent for MPC 3 that:
a) If an hour long, have an index
b) Show screen closeups when something is being done so I don't have to guess what happened.

One issue I have with many of the tutorials is that they start by assuming that you want to build your own drum kit out of samples. I do have some samples around here, but that is not where I want to start. I used a speech to text thing on my Mac to capture my thoughts as I went through doing different things last night because typing on the computer while working on the MPC is quite disruptive, especially since I'm just sitting in the living room with the MPC on my lap.

So I'm coming up with a list of "I want to" mini-topics and then filling those in with step by step as I discover how it's done so I can remember next time. Once I get it fleshed out for my own workflow I'll share it here.

i never liked these "prepackaged" "tutorials" about beat making on the mpc. some are either too overwhelming with info or some don't give enough. you can't stop and ask since its already recorded.

what i would do is reach out to an influencer that will tutor you one on one. that way, you can ask the pertinent questions you need.

the MPC bible is super thorough! and it allows you to hone in on JUST what you need to learn. everything is laid out and with photos and sounds so you can build to your taste, or load up what the author does.

The MPC is the one device that I could never really make good progress with from manuals and guides, but once I got used to the structure of the operating system and got into some musical contexts with it, magic started happening.

You only need 0.1% it's potential to make magic happen, if it's the right 0.1% -- find atomic features that entertain you and experiment with them until they become comfortable, then find more and keep making music.

Spent more time over the weekend, getting a bit more comfortable. Some observations/conclusions. I've enlisted chatGPT on occasion to clarify things but I think it is easily confused.

1) Looks like a "Project" can contain multiple "Sequences" but those all use the same "Tracks".
1a) Adding tracks to a sequence ups the CPU load even if you are not playing any notes.
2) If you're working on something and dream up a new sequence that doesn't fit with what you've already recorded, you need to "Save Project As.." and then delete the sequences from your first project. This happens to me all the time, happened with Ableton Live as well.
3) Editing notes on the touchscreen is quite difficult. Best to try to perform it in correctly. Punch-in helps.
4) My Keystep keyboard works fine when plugged into USB. My Beatstep Pro does not. It "works" as the lights flash etc but it does not trigger sounds in the MPC one.
5) Quantize is destructive.

My Two Cents...

For 1, 1a, and 2.....Just add/duplicate another Track to the Sequence so you don't interfere with Previous Track Information of the Previous Sequences. We have 128 available Tracks to Play with.

For #3.....My Chubby fingers get in the way as well...Solution.....Stylus Pen!

I really recommend the MPC Bible, even though it is not a video. I just started with the Bible for MPC3, and man do I wish I started this earlier and put all my time spent on youtube scrolling & trying to find that video that explains this or that in this bible. Finally, a true Bible for me!

The way this 'manual' has been set up is fun, Andy/MPC-Tutor really did a great job explaining the basics while building a tune, the whole course larded with extra bits, shortcuts etc.
