You would think Akai would already have the best s950 emulation within the MPC; especially given that lotta the legendary producers used the MPC and the S950 in tandem historically.

We should also have also have virtual copies of the AX60, AX73 and AX80 in the MPC by now

True, but they most definitely didn't have nothing to do with the SP1200 but they still put in 2 shitty replicas. There nothing stopping the current Akai from making a decent emulation of the s950 like the makers of the RX950 and a better version of the SP1200 would be dope for users that's into that.

Does RX950 & SP950 work with the new MPC 3.5 desktop-software/controller-mode?

Why not just email Akai directly and request them to collab/add RX950 and SP950 in standalone?
I emailed them several months ago. The more requests they get, the better.

I think they prefer if you sent them a ticket: https://support.akaipro.com/en/support/ ... r_feedback

Its not anything close to a 'replica' or an 'emulation of the SP1200. Its just a Decimator preset. Don't think for an instant the programming team at InMusic (who are likely all contracted workers) know anything about modeling. All those 'vintage' plugins are just EQ presets, or worse, their own bitcrusher plugin with a skin on it that fooled all of you thinking there was actually an SP1200 'emulation' inside.

InMusic doesn't really know jack shit about Akai's history except for the MPC2000XL they keep flogging, and they probably got all their info on it from Wikipedia.

Yeah, I know they're not actual replicas, that's why I called them "shitty replicas."
Still, you know what I meant & my point is that, I hope Akai will put in the time & money to make or get a 3rd party to make better emulations of the SP1200 & a new s950.

dont think anyone was fooled by the emulation exept the complete newbies.

It was very evident that all the vintage modes for the 3000, 60 and the 1200 were not accurate emulations; despite Akai trying to pretend otherwise back in the MPC Ren era; but they were quickly debunked by dudes like Saint Joe back in the day.

Well, they still owe us that “original analogue circuitry” from the MPC Renaissance
