Faulty USB Port

Hi friends, Just wondering if anyone has come across a faultly USB port on the MPC Live V1. These are the ports for attaching midi controllors, and thumb drives etc. The problem I have is that port 2 works, and port 1 doesn't work, however port 1 is able to power devices but there is no communication. I put a ticket in with Akai, but just gave me the standard answer to get it repaired. I can replace the usb connector if I can find one, but considered it may be some other part that is preventing communication.

Did you try a different cable? Sometimes this is the issue.

Well an update, this is the first time I have contacted akai support, the case was esculated to the specialist technical department level 2. They got me to try reinitialising the OS itself just, via a special download link. Anyway this didn't work, so I have to get the Carrier PCB Assy replaced. Must say they were very prompt in the communication. The live has always been in the studio, so the board is failing, I will report back on how much they charge for it.
