And it costs 9 times more than the iOS version. Hooray!

Luckily they are having a once in a lifetime, never to be repeated iconic sale on it!

AKAI keeps churning these low effort DLC because people keep buying them... and since everybody knows the hiphop crowd is so obsessed with "lofi", they'll buy anything that they believe will give them "the sound"... except that you don't need a **** plugin to sound "lofi"... this is pure marketing in action and it works... the satisfaction isn't in creating music or producing beats, but the act of buying itself, the act of consuming. the AKAI MPC is now essentially a marketing platform, like the iPhone, not a sampler sequencer... it's a lifestyle...

Meanwhile, critical bugs like the MIDI IN bug are not fixed and OS 2.X functions were removed...

I don't have a problem with the plugin ecosystem in general, it's the fake pricing/discount malarky and the obsession with 'lofi'. I would rather they go for some higher end stuff like a quality EQ (think fabfilter proQ4), mastering suite etc, something that's actually worth the $100+ supposed price tag.

I do of course get that they like the appeal of the 'it's only 20 bucks' no brainer sales and they can just effortlessly churn out generic stuff like this all day. They'll only stop this when people stop buying.

We already have that Tape Simulation in AIR Flavor PRO. But this Plugin is a lil bit more Controllable. If it comes down to $10 i'll get it

Its too bad InMusic's iteration of Akai has done absolutely nothing iconic with the brand name in 20 something years. They've been riding Akai Pro's coattails since day 1 and haven't really brought jack shit to the table..
I mean the current series was just an MPC5K with a touch screen, they couldn't even come up with anything more than that.

I hope you do a little review. How does the quality compares to the other FX?

I will test out this weekend .. I do wish they organize the browser so its easier to find effects and plugins..

I played with the plugin this AM before work on a beat I'm working on. It's pretty cool. Some of the effects I was using my 404 mk2 for like tape stop, lofi, etc I can just get with this plugin. I like the reverse, brake, and stutter effects the most. Can't wait to utilize it when I record out the beat I'm working on. Should be dope.

This is better than flavor pro for quick easy lofi seasoning. Pro is heavy handed and overly convoluted for what it should be. And if I remember correctly, FlyTape saturation sounds much much better on drums. It’s a better 404 replacement than anything already in the mpc because of its simple straight forward approach

But yes, no more lofi plugins lol

Can't you say this about literally everything though? Gaming with it's esports and streaming subculture that's the most recent I can think of. It's the same with sports/athletics (Gatorade, Nike headbands, Basketball shoes), Djing, etc. I don't judge it that deeply. It's a cool plugin, if I want it I'll buy it, if not I won't. It definitely has something to add to my music so I bought it. As I mentioned in another comment, a lot of the stuff I was using my 404 mk2 connected to my Key 61 for I can do with this plugin. That's pretty cool to me and worth $25. Not banging on your comment but everything is a lifestyle and a subculture if you want to look at it that way.
