imho it's not worth putting back on lol. better off generating your own samples with the synths taking snippets outta the waves and and applying effects and flattening them as you go. or making entirely new sounding instruments using mpc-tutors bible lesson for subtractive synthesis using key groups. its one of the best features of the mpc, you can get some nice fat sounds out of a keygroup with oscillators for tone and your own choice of fx. creating content is part of what makes mpc appealing. i erased mine in the first month aint looked back.

I wasted several hours due to their poor instructions.
Simply unzip then Copy the entire folder Autorun into the root directory of the USB or SD card.
Turn on the MPC after few seconds
Insert the SD or USB card when MPC logo appears.
Follow the on screen instructions.
Live-2 took 50 min to complete.
Resolved hanging issues, recreated missing Demo projects and resolved the following errors.
Specified configuration may not be supported code - 19
Failed to open capture screen

Does anyone here know how to remove a file from the internal default drive? I accidentially saved a project to the root of the tree and can't find any function to delete it?

I got it sorted now- I realised I had copied the contents of the folder to the usb stick and not the folder itself- doh! After I did that it instantly recognised it and loaded the factory content so the template screen is back.
Thanks for you help.

cheers

Hi Phil,

I came across your post I as I am having same problem. I have the MPC KEY 61 and Factory Content on one of the demos on startup page (No 8) from the list on Demo Expansions will not load. I contacted Akai and they have sent me file download which when expanded is AUTORUN/CONTENT/EXPANSIONS.TAR.GZ I followed update procedure advised but like you nothing happens! I see further down the posts someone mentions a script file which should be on the download, but I only see what I mentioned above. Can you remember if there were other files in the AUTORUN folder. Have had few suggestions from Akai including downgrading to MPC 2.15.1 from the latest 3.5.
but still no further, I may get more advice from Akai in coming days but any advice from yourself or others appreciated 8)

Hi Ray

I prob won't be much help but did you format your usb stick on the mpc? I think I did and then copied the user content to the autorun folder. This was for the mpc software v2 so I'm not sure how it works for v3.
Maybe someone else can share an experience of getting it to work with v3.

Cheers

Phil

Whatever zipped file akai sent you, on computer, unzip it to your media root drive (media you will use on your standalone machine). Put that media in your machine while off, boot up with the media inserted.
