Can anybody make sense of the buttons on the top? button 7 is "CLIP LAUNCH" which is very enticing to me as someone who used Clip Programs exclusively live, instead of Drum Programs (way easier and faster to set up, toggle support without hack...).

Button 5 is "LAST STEP", Button 9 is "TRACK SELECT", Button 11 is "TRACK MUTE", Button 8 is "ROW LAUNCH"? I mean the new OS version is going to be very very interesting...

It sounds like they're adding the Force clip-matrix which more powerful than the clips on MPC2 because all track types can be used & launched in quantize or unquantized & there's Legato mode. I still rather have a new Force & a crossfader.

Last step would be incredible. Finally maybe they are considering updating the step sequencer. To be able to make 3 or 5 step patterns would be an incredible addition.

That new SOC, memory and cpu for only $500 price increase? Sign me up Akai. That face is crowded but the features got me ready to take it portable instead of waiting for the well laid out studio flagship.

I need that battery and those speakers.

This. I would love for this to be true. I even dont mind the many many buttons. The less I need to use the touch screen the better. But until Akai says: „this is it“ it‘s just hype bait

why would you think its fake? everything on this layout makes sense to me and it looks like a proper shot picture... i would certainly bet on it

i knew that with mpc 3.0 there will be new hardware along with it and this is the first thing now.
im sure that a keys will follow, and im hoping a new X will follow too...

given that we'll surely have a major software update when this drops, perhaps with the return of clip programs or even a better version of clip based workflow, i wonder if the new software will still be compatible with older models... and i cant stop dreaming of them bringing back the programs (but it won't happen, i'm sure) along with other returning features... a good clip launcher might be a reason for me to eventually update the mpc live mk1 and keep the mpc 1k for regular seq\track\program workflow...

Certainly looks like Force-style clips are incoming, this is a very good thing but makes me wonder what lies ahead for the Force, hopefully even better Force mk2 model.

Software will of course be compatible with older models but no doubt we'll soon be seeing some features being 'convoluted' to control on the older hardware (e.g. no dedicated buttons). And of course with the introduction of 8 GB ram, MPE and more powerful CPU we'll see more and more expansions and plugins being made to take advantage of these and hence likely not work so well (if at all) on older models.

At the moment in my upcoming expansions I'm still trying to cater for the die-hard MPC2 users while introducing features specifically for MPC3 and the only way to effectively achieve this is to have two separate versions; this is proving to be far too much work even for an autistic-OCD geezer like myself, so once I've released these next two expansions I'm probably going to ditch MPC2 support completely. It seems likely that the Live3 (and subsequent next gen models) will probably also require their own using versions unless there's some built in fall back (e.g. for the MPE stuff).

At first I thought this was the AI in Akai....
But 'if' it was really online on a legit webshop, it 'could' be real.....
I have not seen the webshop where it was online, so I can't check, but....

I guess we'll find out soon enough if it was, because webshops accidentally leaking products is usually not long before the release.

Oh and I'm currently with the general consensus that this Live3 is looking far too 'busy'. Maybe will be okay in the flesh though, it's very hard to tell with these marketing images where all the buttons are illuminated. But from what I can tell from the blurry images, there's no consistency in the button placements which messes with the muscle memory, especially for buttons like SHIFT, MENU and MAIN.
