This whole thing really reminds me of when the SP-404mk2 came out. Retailer accidentally leaks it before announcement, crazy hype ensues, lots of skeptics, etc.

Seeing as it was leaked by Red One Music (somewhere I frequently shop), I'd be surprised if it isn't real

This effectively would have the same pad capacity as the force so i don't see why they would make another 64 pad controller when this layout can do the same. I really really curious of what a new MPC x will look like. They clearly are upping the ante so I can't imagine the flagship not reaching for a wow factor as well.

I don't know if those tiny pad regions will be ideal for replacing the Force experience. It looks more like they're giving MPC users a taste of the Force to introduce a new Force mk2 or whatever. The Force still has more qlinks with screens & a crossfader which I would prefer over a touchstrip. Whatever this is, it won't be the only model Akai will make & this would be a better time to release a new Force not drop it.

Yeah, those buttons on the top are sitting right on top of the audio and midi jacks and the USB ports?? You've just got cables smashed into what little space is left in there at that point? Yeah nah, that picture is AI bullshit heh.

If that is real, they need to fire their UIX team, that is an atrocious design heh.

These MPC retailer leaks have happened a few times now, methinks there's nothing accidental about it. It's a great (and low cost) way to build the hype.

Thats the purpose of putting expansions on a Separate SSD Drive lol

It's way to do commercials in streaming world. They know, we know what's going on.

The product description states they are MPE, well "MPCe'

"MPCe expressive pads with new 3D sensing technology ".

Akai do like to give things new names, like the allegedly forthcoming 'Flexible Time Signatures'...

My guess is each pad will control up to four different parameters via MPE and aftertouch depending on which quadrant(s) of the pad you're using pressure on, but I guess we'll see.

akai planned all these leaks and is seeing the online hype and speculation so they moved the embargo end dates to build hype further

Hmm. Maybe if we all focus on just trashing it instead they will rush them out quicker
